00:00Hi everyone. It's so nice to see everyone again. My name is Kyla Isabelle Yaneza. I am 29 years old.
00:30But no matter how careful Kyla was with herself, she was not safe from the scary feelings.
00:41Kyla is one of those who had a rare type of cancer, Stage 4b Endometrial Clear Cell Carcinoma or cancer in the uterus.
00:53Kyla was diagnosed in 2021.
00:57I didn't have any symptoms but it was only bleeding.
01:01I had a normal menstruation.
01:03Sometimes, I had a heavy menstruation.
01:06At that time, I was only 27 years old.
01:08It's normal for a woman to have a menstruation.
01:11It's not an indicator that it's a cancer.
01:15That's what I felt.
01:18The pain was like I was having dysmenorrhea.
01:21My first reaction was, I was so shocked.
01:25We didn't expect it because I was so young to have a clear cell.
01:30She was able to stop the plans that I wanted to go to.
01:35The plans that I wanted to achieve in life.
01:37That's how I felt.
01:39It's not like I was bewitched.
01:42It's like I wanted to conquer a world that I didn't understand.
01:49Kyla's fear and anxiety increased when she was examined by her doctor for 6 months.
01:58When I found out that I had cancer.
02:00Because, of course, anybody can tell you that you have cancer.
02:05You know that your time is short.
02:08But you know that your life is short when you have cancer.
02:11Even if you don't know the duration of your life.
02:19When my medical oncologist said,
02:21I don't believe, Kyla, that you just have 6 months.
02:26Because what happened before was,
02:28we also asked outside of the country.
02:31They said, it's gone.
02:33It's a super hard thing.
02:35I believe God has a purpose.
02:38And He will be the one to heal you.
02:40I am just an instrument.
02:42So, what he said to me,
02:44it gave me hope.
02:45Though I have to give up everything,
02:48I have to focus on my cancer.
02:51Let's go home.
02:54In her hope to recover from cancer,
02:57Kyla underwent a total hysterectomy,
03:00or the removal of a woman's whole reproductive system.
03:05My OB gynecologist showed me a model of my reproductive system.
03:11He said, Kyla, these all have to go.
03:14I said, all of them?
03:15Even the ovaries?
03:16All of them.
03:18Because the clear cell is super fast.
03:25You will be able to remove your hair.
03:27Your mental health is challenged.
03:29You will lose weight.
03:30All the different bodily changes.
03:32At the same time of receiving chemotherapy effects,
03:36and immunotherapy effects,
03:38eventually, it is very difficult.
03:45Today is May 26,
03:48and I am on my 19th immunotherapy.
03:53Kyla used her difficult journey
03:56to accomplish a mission that can help others.
04:00I documented my journey.
04:02I placed a Facebook page,
04:04which is Kyla Fights Cancer.
04:06And eventually, it paved the way
04:10for other cancer patients
04:12who were newly diagnosed to go there,
04:14and then seek support also from me.
04:16Because I feel that if I didn't undergo these circumstances,
04:20I wouldn't be able to feel
04:22what it feels like to have cancer.
04:27Or I wouldn't be able to feel
04:29what other cancer patients are going through.
04:32Immunotherapy number 36 today.
04:35Here's my line.
04:39Happy graduation day!
04:41Finally, 2022 to 2024!
