Northumberland County Council and The Alnwick Garden have teamed up to host a golden pumpkin treasure hunt this half term.

00:13We had a great deal of fun supporting the Council's Ready, Set, Explore campaign
00:17and would encourage everyone to embark on a no-fumbling adventure this October,
00:21whether revisiting an old haunt or discovering something new.
00:25So we're here at George Park this morning as part of the Ready, Set, Explore campaign.
00:30We're with Red Road Primary School, we've been walking around doing the Ghost Trail
00:33and it's been a real social occasion for the school this morning.
00:36The pupils going around, enjoying the scenery, enjoying finding all the clues along the way,
00:42but that's what active travel is all about.
00:45This time of year in particular, with the colours in the trees,
00:50enjoying those late autumnal days, it's a great opportunity to go out and explore.
00:55Today I've come to join a school in starting the scavenger hunt
00:59for the six golden pumpkins that the Anna Garden and Lilydore have hidden
01:03in six different parks and nature trails throughout Northumberland.

01:14I would encourage everyone to head out in nature this half term.
01:18We're fortunate to live in such a beautiful county
01:20with a host of outdoor activities right on our doorstep
01:23and you might even find a golden pumpkin or two.
01:35Six golden pumpkins can be claimed from George Bay Country Park,
01:38East Cramlin in Nature Reserve, Plessey Woods, Flagstaff Park,
01:42Tyne Riverside and Bolham Lake from Sunday 20th October.
01:46The Anna Garden has a pumpkin festival going on for all of October
01:51and Lilydore of course has Spookydore going all the way through Halloween.
01:55So get outside, get into nature and look for those golden pumpkins.
