00:21The Cordillera-RDRRMC Operations Center has already issued a red alert to monitor the effects of Hurricane Christine.
00:31The region is also under the Charlie Protocol, which is the highest level of emergency preparedness of the Office of Civil Defense for the earthquake.
00:39The Department of Social Welfare and Development has prepared more than 63,000 family food packs and more than 25,000 non-food items for those affected by the earthquake in Cordillera.
00:51There are also nearly 3 million Pesos in standby funds for additional assistance to the victims.
00:57Currently, there are prepositioned family food packs in each province for quick assistance.
01:04As of 6 a.m. today, no family has been reported missing in Cordillera.
01:09But residents who live in the affected areas have been instructed to evacuate before the earthquake hits the area.
01:17We will continue to monitor and take the directives and advisories of those affected seriously.
01:30According to the latest data from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau,
01:33more than 800 barangays in Cordillera are expected to have landslides and flooding if up to 150 mm of rainfall is experienced.
01:43The most are in the provinces of Benguet, Ifugao, Apayao, and Calinga.
01:48In Baguio City, the local government is monitoring the City Camp Lagoon, which is limited to flooding whenever it rains heavily.
01:56Drainage canals have also been inspected.
01:59Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong reminded residents not to take out their garbage so that there will be no clogging in the canals.
02:08There is a big improvement in our waste management.
02:12Previously, we expected that whenever it rains heavily, our City Camp Lagoon will be filled with debris and garbage.
02:21But right now, it's only up to one-fifth or one-eighth.
02:25Meanwhile, the Botanical Garden, Mines View Park, and Dominican Heritage and Nature Park were closed in Baguio City for the safety of the public.
02:34Atok LGU also suspended tourism activities until October 26 due to the typhoon or until the Christine typhoon is released.
02:43In Togon and Bukod, Benguet, LGU suspended mining activities of small-scale miners
02:50to avoid unexpected events due to the typhoon.
02:54In the situation of dams in Benguet, the Buklau Dam is still at a normal water level while a gate of the Binga Dam has lost water.
03:04BINECO has also issued a red alert for the typhoon.
03:07According to Tanggapan, their linemen are ready, even their various equipment, to respond quickly to the effects of the Christine typhoon.
03:16BINECO was instructed to expect to experience a power interruption in case of a typhoon.
03:22There is also a protocol that we are following.
03:25Of course, when it comes to the spread of damages, our linemen will go first
03:32to fix our primary lines, or our backbone lines, and then the laterals will follow.
