00:00This kid, Dylan Sampson, was unbelievable, 139 yards, two
00:05tutties. I thought the Vols up front were just giving him
00:10massive holes. I don't think I've ever seen a tied defense
00:16pushed around like that in the trenches in a long time. I mean,
00:21I'm talking about way before Nick Saban. I've never seen
00:24holes like that or a team, an Alabama team get kind of just
00:29beaten down by Tennessee. I thought Sampson had nice work,
00:34but it looked easy to me with some of the holes he got.
00:38Well, when you watch the Alabama come out on the field and warm
00:42up, they didn't impress you like they have in the past with those
00:46big uglies, especially on the defensive line, where they would
00:50just kind of maul you at the line of scrimmage. They have a
00:52couple of guys that are really good players up front, but they
00:54don't have the overall depth in that defensive line where they
00:58can just dominate. I mean, South Carolina, the other game
01:03started the second half and held the ball for eight and a half
01:06minutes against him. And that used to never happen against
01:08Alabama. Sampson has been a story because of the fact of
01:12he's run for 100 yards now in six of Tennessee's seven games.
01:17And a lot of his yardage, about two thirds of it, is after
01:20contact. So that means he's breaking tackles. And when
01:24there's not a hole, he creates one. And the one thing that
01:27separates him, he's got sprinter speed. I mean, he was
01:30a sprint champion out of Baton Rouge. And if he gets by that
01:33first line of defense, he's a home run hitter. So he's just
01:37been really good. Last year, he got to play some, but Jalen
01:41Wright was the featured back last year, and Wright was a
01:43thousand yard rusher, and Wright had a really good season. So
01:47Sampson had to pick and choose some of his spots where he had a
01:50chance to play, but he played well when he did. But this year,
01:54he's the featured guy. There's no question. They're riding him
01:57right now. He's the workhorse. He rushed for, what, 26 times, I
02:00guess, against Alabama. And so they're giving him the ball, and
02:04he's doing a really good job with it.
