00:00Economists suggest that foreign workers' savings should be between 13% and 15% in order to avoid the rapid flow of cash, a minimum wage increase of RM1,700.
00:15Ahmad Razman Abdul Latif from Putra Business School also suggested that the issuance of KWSP savings for foreign workers can only be made at the age of 55.
00:26It is said that the age and conditions will benefit the government because the increase in dividends and cash through the savings can be used for future investments.
00:37Yesterday, KWSP announced a mandatory coverage for foreign workers as an effort to expand social protection, the order of the 2025 spending announcement that obliges it with the implementation made by the government.
00:52Meanwhile, Aimi Zuhazmi from Kuala Lumpur University said that the implementation of a minimum wage increase for foreign workers is said to have an effect on the flow of foreign currency cash, which is now estimated at RM30 billion a year.
