00:00There are persons of interest, but the cause of the disappearance of an American vlogger in Zamboanga del Norte has not yet been determined by the police.

00:08There has not yet been a ransom, if this is a true case of kidnapping.

00:13Why is this happening?

00:19People come in here to tell my family that there's people that want to kidnap me or they're threatening to kidnap me.

00:26I don't really know what would happen.

00:29If somebody did try to come here and kidnap me, right?

00:32Would the neighbors help me or would they just sit there and watch?

00:35Even last night, I'm scared a little bit. I'm scared.

00:39In a vlog last September, 26-year-old Elliot Eastman told the story of his life.

00:46I feel like I've been staying in this area for so long to the point where people, I don't even know if people like me anymore.

00:52Maybe they want bad things to happen to me now.

00:56At 11 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, four armed men entered their house in Sitio Tungawan, Barangay Poblacion, Cebuco, Zamboanga del Norte.

01:05In the first investigation, Eastman ran away, but he was shot by the kidnapper and dragged to the seaside town where a boat is waiting to leave.

01:15But the police think that the suspects are just in the area of Zamboanga del Norte and there's no indication that they arrived in Sulu or Basilan.

01:23Because it's been four days since the kidnapping happened and no ransom has been received, the PNP is looking for another motive.

01:32Normally, in kidnapping cases involving the group we're talking about, they don't initially hurt the kidnappers.

01:42But this time, the victim was hurt immediately when he saw and resisted.

01:48And in fact, he was shot.

01:49So these are the things that we're considering.

01:53There are persons of interest in Tinutuntun now.

01:56They are also investigating if they have connections to local terrorist groups such as Abu Sayyaf or BIFF.
