Porthmadog assistant manager Mac Seddon gives his verdict on Welsh Cup defeat against Airbus UK

00:00That's a valiant effort today against a very strong Airbus side. I'm sure you're happy

00:06with that performance but not the result.

00:08Yeah, we were obviously disappointed to go out. We wanted to go through. We set the lads

00:13up with a game plan that they're not usually used to. It's red like a five at the back,

00:17four in midfield, and not even a one up front, it was more of one sitting on their six. But

00:23we come away from it and I think the overwhelming feelings were proud of the lads. They struck

00:28off to that game plan. We frustrated a very good Airbus side and we were still in the

00:32game for a long time. We could have went in 1-0 at half time, maybe 2 if we'd have took

00:36some chances but it wasn't meant to be and that's cup football for you.

00:41It shows you the flexibility of the team as well to change formation for an important

00:45game. How does this look for the next few weeks now? Will there be a different formation

00:51for every game or stick to the old ways?

00:54It depends who we're playing. Obviously we can adapt. We've got our own game plans that

00:59we like to work on. We like to try and attack teams, attack from the front. Me and Chris

01:04went to go and watch Airbus against Colne one day and we've seen how good they were

01:08on the counter attack. They've got good players, quick, wild players. So the game plan today

01:13was to set up against that and we'll do the same going forward but we've got full belief

01:17in the team and we can play whichever way we want to play now. So that's the big thing

01:21that we take away from today.

01:23Big chance first half, could have changed the game for the Sallins. It was a difficult

01:26chance even though it was a yard out of goal, it was still a difficult chance. Would have

01:30changed the game?

01:31It was and it would have. It wouldn't have changed the way we were playing because we

01:35were sitting in any way. We were countering the Saffron when we could. But yeah, big chances.

01:40If they get away from you, they can lose you the game.

01:46Looking forward to it. We'll be training on Thursday. We'll go in there with another game

01:49plan and hopefully we'll get three points and extend our lead to the top.
