Porthmadog manager Chris Jones gives his verdict on his side’s 4-1 against Llanrwst United

00:00That could have been a difficult game tonight Chris, for Llanrwyrsir a strong side but a

00:09powerful performance and a 4-1 win.

00:12Yeah, obviously really pleased with it. I thought we started the game, we spoke before

00:17the game that we've been having fast starts in all the games so far this season so I asked

00:21the lads to go and do the same. Obviously we took the lead early on. I thought they

00:25had a little spell then, 15-20 minutes with you were really dangerous, especially on the

00:28counter-attack set-pieces they were dangerous so the lads dealt with it well. I thought

00:33the back four, Eve and Jake when you come on, were excellent all night, Oli as well.

00:37We stood up to the set-pieces and done really well in that regard. Obviously we got the

00:42second goal, second half and it just sort of frustrated our times that we didn't keep

00:46the ball better. It was 100mph in the first half but like I say, I can't complain too

00:50much. Second half we spoke about, again, trying to manage the game if we can but if there's

00:56opportunities go and take them. We were clinical, we got our third goal. The most pleasing part

01:00of the whole evening for me, when we did concede, was the reaction of everybody. We spoke about

01:04it an awful lot since the game in. If you concede one goal, don't concede two and three.

01:08The reaction, I could see everyone looking at each other, let's go again. Obviously we

01:11won with the fourth goal and seen the game out.

01:14It's an important game because we're now looking at two cup games so that's the end of the

01:18first set of games and we're still unbeaten, we're scoring goals, we're conceding but we're

01:23still learning from them. What can we learn from the next two games in the cup? Are they

01:28important games for Poberek?

01:29Yeah, obviously every game is important. We want to win every game. We've got a good squad

01:33that we'll use over the next couple of weeks but we're not going to take our foot off the

01:38pedal. We want to win every single game that we go into. Cups are really important to me,

01:41it's not like it's just the league. Obviously we want to get out of this division but the

01:45priority is to go on to win every game and that's what we'll try and do in the next two

01:48games.

01:49Penalty saved by Oli, good to see.

01:52I thought Oli was brilliant on the night he made two good saves in the first half as well

01:57when it was 1-0 so it's easy to forget that but yeah, great penalty save in the second

02:01half and really pleased with the performance.
