00:00What's up guys, today I wanted to do a comparison of the Galaxy S24 Ultra to the Pixel 8 Pro to the
00:06iPhone 15 Pro Max. This is what I would call the big three here in the United States. These are
00:12the flagships that majority of people are going to be choosing from. So I'm going to go ahead and
00:17talk about just, you know, my experience with these phones, comparing them, and sort of doing a,
00:24you know, overview of which phone I think would be best for the individual person. So let's go
00:29ahead and get started here. So I want to talk about price first. I think the Pixel pretty much
00:35wins hands down in price. The Galaxy and the iPhone are $1,000 plus phones, while the Pixel
00:42you can actually find for brand new on Google's website for $800, which I think is excellent
00:48considering the quality of flagship that you actually get with this phone. It would be,
00:53you know, it would be something if the Pixel didn't do anything better than the Galaxy or
00:59the iPhone, but it actually does. It actually does do things better and it comes in at a cheaper
01:04price as well too. So that's something I do appreciate from Google, giving just a cheaper
01:10option here. So the first thing I want to talk about is hardware. So each phone has their own
01:15unique design. Of course, this comes down to personal preference, which phone you actually
01:20think looks better. I actually think the S24 Ultra looks the best out of all of them.
01:24But I will say the Pixel has the best design. And again, this is my, you know, personal opinion,
01:30simply because it's not as boxy as the iPhone or the S24. It fits in the palm really well,
01:37and I think it's just way more comfortable to hold, especially for people with smaller hands.
01:42It's just way easier to deal with. So I appreciate that. And like I said, the iPhone and the Galaxy,
01:50these are just boxier phones. And, you know, Apple did kind of help a little bit, you know,
01:57curving it out a little bit with the iPhone, but it's still kind of boxy. Like I said, just not as
02:02comfortable, I think, as the Pixel. They all have the matte finish on here, which is really nice,
02:08so you can't really see those fingerprints. And then they all are IP68 dust and water resistant,
02:14of course, dual speakers, of course. But the Galaxy is the only phone here with S-Pen support.
02:21And I think the S-Pen support is really cool, considering if you're a digital artist. I say
02:28this all the time, but if you just go on YouTube and type S-Pen art, you know, with the Galaxy
02:33phones, you guys will be shocked at how accurate these things are when it comes to, you know,
02:39digital artwork. Also, you know, just being able to use this as a coloring book if you're bored,
02:44or just people who really just like to navigate with a pen, like that kind of old school feel to
02:49it. And Samsung does throw in a lot of stuff in here, smart select, screen write, pin up,
02:55just a bunch of cool features. And also, I think this is extremely good for content creators. So
03:01if you're a content creator, the S-Pen is Bluetooth, so you can actually record a video
03:06from a distance. You can actually, you know, take pictures also from a distance as well too,
03:12which I think is really cool. So yeah, so I really like the Galaxy S-Pen. I think it actually has a
03:18lot of functionality to it. So let's talk about the displays here, the S24 with the biggest display
03:24at 6.8, and then these two are 6.7 inch displays. But they are pretty big phones. One of the things
03:31that I really appreciate about Samsung displays is that they've always been making some of the
03:36best displays. Even though you can see this display is a little bit dull compared to the
03:41iPhone and Pixel, it's because Samsung has to fix the little bug that they have with the vividness.
03:46So they're going to fix that. But I think the Galaxy has the best display here, hands down.
03:51Just look at the bezels. If you're a display nerd, you'll really appreciate just those slim
03:55bezels right there. Just look at it compared to the iPhone and Pixel. It's just crazy thin.
04:00And they're all flat displays now, unfortunately. I do like the slightly curved panels. I think it
04:05looks more premium, but it is flat now. And yeah, all beautiful panels, right? They're all 1440p.
04:12They're all LTPO. They are high resolution displays as well too. All beautiful panels,
04:19all 120 hertz. Now there are some differences as far as the screen brightness with the S24
04:25actually having the highest brightness at 2,600 nits peak brightness. And then the iPhone is around
04:312,000 nits peak brightness along with the Pixel's peak brightness at 2,400 nits peak brightness.
04:38So in direct sunlight, if you're somebody that's outdoor, the light goes to the beach,
04:41these are fantastic phones. The Galaxy on paper is going to be a better phone.
04:46But as far as display, I think just because of the design of the Galaxy just being super
04:51square and just really resembling a TV, I think it just makes for the best viewing experience
04:57as well too. The only thing about Apple's display is that it has the dynamic island on here,
05:03which is pretty kind of useful sometimes. Not really. I think it really needs more apps to
05:11take advantage of it. But it can be useful at times. But yeah, so the dynamic island, it's there
05:19somewhat useful when you're playing music and stuff like that, maybe Google Maps, Uber,
05:24timer, stuff like that. It's kind of useful. So I want to talk about the specs a little bit more.
05:33And this is something that I think a lot of people who look at these benchmark videos and
05:38they consider the Pixel, you see such low scores on the Pixel. But the thing about the Pixel is
05:43that for the average person, and honestly, if you're just a casual gamer, the Pixel is perfectly
05:48fine. And like I said, the scores you would think is going to be a massive difference,
05:52but it's actually not. You really won't notice a difference. The Pixel is running the Google
05:56Tensor G3 chipset. The iPhone has Apple's, what is it, 17 Pro chipset on it. And then the S24 has
06:05the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor on here. And what's cool about the software now is that all of
06:12these phones have very long lifespans. The iPhones always have pretty long lifespans, around six
06:18years. And then now the Pixel and the S24 have seven years of major updates, which is awesome.
06:24So you can keep these phones for extremely long time. So there's no difference in that.
06:28But back to the speed of these phones. Like I said, a lot of people, they look at the benchmarks.
06:33That's why I don't really harp on the benchmarks too much. Yes, the Pixel is not going to be as
06:37fast as the iPhone and Galaxy, but it pretty much feels just as fast when you're just in
06:46applications, bouncing in and out of applications. It's really not that big of a difference.
06:52You'd really be surprised. So we'll just do Instagram these two. And I'm telling you guys,
07:02you won't notice a difference. So if you're looking at the benchmarks and you're saying,
07:05oh, well, the Pixel is not as fast, it's really not supposed to. Maybe I can get all three of these.
07:18You can see Pixel, it's just right behind these two, but it's still keeping up. It's still very
07:25fast for the average person. All right, let's touch on gaming here. So I think using all of
07:32these phones, a gaming experience is fine for the casual gamer. Obviously, if you're a little bit
07:37more of a hardcore gamer, you're going to want the higher scores, right? But like I said, the Pixel
07:45does a pretty good job if you're just a casual gamer. The only thing with the Pixel phones is
07:50that it's not as well optimized because this phone should be running PUBG at 90 frames, but
07:56it hasn't gotten that update like the iPhone and the S24, which have that update. You can see we
08:06have 90 frames. So it doesn't get that same treatment, unfortunately. So if you're a gamer,
08:11you're probably going for the Galaxy or iPhone or something like that. But the Pixel, like I said,
08:16is just fine for gaming. I would not really pay attention to those benchmarks, especially if you're
08:21a casual gamer. If you're a more hardcore gamer, of course, then you're going to go with the iPhone
08:28or Galaxy, right? And Apple made the claim that the iPhone can play console games, and we've seen
08:35it, and it can do it. I really want to test it out myself with the Resident Evil game. But just know
08:40that the iPhone or the Galaxy is probably the way to go if you're someone who considers themselves
08:44like a hardcore mobile gamer. But yeah, your experience is going to be fantastic on all of
08:49these phones. I feel like with the Galaxy, though, it tends to not get as warm as the iPhone or
08:56Pixel. So I think Samsung has really nailed the cooling on this phone. To me, it just doesn't get
09:02as warm. I think the iPhone actually gets the warmest, in my opinion. Just using it, I noticed
09:09it just always kind of starts to get a little bit warm. I've never had it really crash on me or
09:12anything like that, but yeah, I just noticed it's just one of those phones that gets warm.
09:18But yeah, if you're a gamer, iPhone or the Galaxy. Pixel if you're a casual gamer.
09:24All right, so let's talk about software experience. All right, so there's very different
09:32takes here on how they want the phones to function, right? Samsung pretty much wants you to
09:37use the Samsung applications, which are actually extremely useful, like the Samsung
09:42gallery, the internet, the Samsung store with GoodLock. And also you have additional features
09:48like Samsung desktop support. I think Samsung has the best UI for more advanced users. So if
09:56you're somebody that's very tech savvy, you want to play with your phone and do a lot of
10:00customizations. GoodLock, you'll never run out of stuff to do and play with on your phone.
10:06It's just very, very in-depth when it comes to that. And then Samsung has now added the AI
10:12features. So it's kind of on par with the Pixel now, even though I don't think the quality is
10:16as good as the Pixel's AI. And iPhone is actually way, way behind in AI. It virtually has no AI
10:24compared to the iPhone and Galaxy now. This is something that I think Apple's going to address
10:28with the iPhone 16. I think it's going to be all about AI. Of course, Apple is going to make it
10:33seem like it's a new thing. But yeah, so like I said, all of these phones have long software
10:40updates. I think the Pixel is really good. It's very clean as well. And also the benefit to owning
10:46Pixel with stock Android is that you're first to get the beta software. So when Android, whatever
10:52you're on, 14, when 15 comes out, you'll get the beta software. So you'll be able to experience
10:58the new stuff faster than the Galaxy users or anybody else on Android. So that's always,
11:04that's a plus too. And also it's just more simple. It's cleaner. You don't have the double
11:11applications. Like on the Galaxy, you have the Google Photos and the gallery and stuff like that
11:17takes up a little bit more space as far as storage. But besides that, the Pixel is extremely
11:24simple. It's very fast and fluid. I think all of them really feel fast and fluid for the most part
11:30these days. But yeah, and of course for iPhones, if you use iPhones or you already know,
11:38a lot of people just use iPhones simply because of the FaceTime, the iMessage. That's really a
11:44thing that pushes. And also I think software updates are just way more consistent and just
11:51easier on the iPhone as well. I got to get props for that. When iOS 17 came out, it hit all the
11:57iPhones at the same time. With the Android, it's fragmented. So you're going to get updates all
12:03over the place. The Pixel get it first, Galaxy next or whoever. It's very fragmented. It's all
12:09over the place. I've got all these speakers at max volume. So let's go ahead and hear it. We'll
12:14start with the iPhone. Pixel.
12:44So
12:52Man, this year they all sound very similar. I think the Pixel actually has probably the
13:15boomiest bass. The iPhone and Galaxy actually sound a lot more similar.
13:32Yeah, it's kind of tough to tell. But you can clearly hear the Pixel has just a louder bass
13:38in both of them. They all sound extremely good though this year. I'm really happy because
13:43the Galaxy for a while was always, I think, behind the Pixel and sometimes the iPhone in
13:50terms of audio quality, especially with Samsung's worst speakers of all time with the S22 Ultra.
13:56So they all sound extremely good. Also, there is something to note here with the biometrics.
14:01I think Samsung pretty much knocks it out of the park with biometrics. So you have the option to
14:06do face unlock on the Galaxy, but you can also use the fingerprint scanner, which is ultrasonic.
14:12On the Pixel, you also have that option as well too. But what I don't like about the Pixel,
14:18and this is probably something they might fix, is that it's not ultrasonic. It's an optical one,
14:25and you have to apply just a little bit of pressure. Like I said, it's not a big deal,
14:30but yeah, you have to apply just a tad bit of pressure. The iPhone doesn't offer any type
14:34of fingerprint scanner. It's exclusively face ID, which is extremely secure. So that's a good thing.
14:40But I do like that the Galaxy does the fingerprint scanner really well,
14:45and it does have face unlock. So I think it's definitely the best in terms of biometrics.
14:50All right, next I want to talk about the cameras, and I really want to simplify this.
14:53So what I really like about each phone's camera. The Pixel, I think, takes the overall best stills,
15:01and I really enjoy the selfies as well on it. I love the skin tones. I love the Google's image
15:06processing, the photo editor. I just think it all works. The AI stuff, it works really well,
15:12and I would pick it up if you're somebody who just really wants the best still photography.
15:16I think the Pixel does it the best. The iPhone, I really don't like how it does skin tones,
15:23especially on people of color. It usually gives you like this grayish look, and it highlights,
15:30like the shadows are just really dark, and I just was never a fan of the iPhone's photos.
15:35I think when they switched to like maybe around the iPhone 13, that's when I noticed like,
15:42I don't know, it just went downhill from there. I'm just not a big fan, but obviously the iPhone
15:48is going to take excellent stills as well too. I think the iPhone actually excels in video. I think
15:51it's much better than the Pixel and the Galaxy, and I think the Galaxy overall has actually the
15:57most balanced camera system. It's got really everything you could really want. It's got
16:02excellent zoom photography as well too. I think it just beats the Pixel and iPhone in terms of that.
16:07Excellent 5x, 10x, even 100x zoom on here, and if you're somebody that is out to sporting events
16:13and stuff like that, this phone is going to be epic for you. Go to concerts. This is just an
16:18awesome phone to have with you for sure, and like I said, the image processing is very balanced as
16:24well too with the S24 for the most part. So these are really, really awesome cameras. You can't
16:31really go wrong with either of them, but like I said, if I was to highlight one of them, I would
16:36say iPhone for video. I think it excels in video. Pixel for stills, and if you just want the overall
16:42best experience I think with a camera, you can't go wrong with the Galaxy because it also takes
16:47good video, takes good stills, has good zoom photography as well too, and there's just a lot
16:53going on here as far as what you can do with the software and settings and stuff like that. I think
16:57Samsung does a really good job, and plus you have a lot of the AI stuff as well too. Now I do think
17:02the Galaxy has the best setup when it comes to charging. All these phones actually have extremely
17:09good battery life, so that's something that I'm glad these companies have worked on for the most
17:13part. Very good battery life on all of these, but what I like about Samsung is that this phone does
17:19have the 45 watt charging, so it charges much faster than the iPhone and the Pixel. The Pixel
17:26has a 30 watt charging, which is not too bad. It also has 23 watt wireless charging, so that's a
17:31plus. It also has reverse wireless charging, the Galaxy does too, and the iPhone is lacking
17:39the reverse wireless charging. I think that's something that they should definitely bring,
17:42but it does have the MagSafe stuff as well too with accessories. But yeah, so battery life is
17:49excellent on all of these phones. You can't really go wrong with that, but I do like that the
17:55S24, it charges slightly faster for the most part. Be sure to let me know which phone you
18:00guys would pick and why, and I will catch you guys in the next one.
