Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) is not owned by MCA and the party does not gain any profit from it, says MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon.

He said the taxation issue facing the university has shocked many, especially those concerned about the accessibility of affordable tertiary education to Malaysian youths.

00:26Dr. Ma said UTAR has contributed greatly to the nation, producing nearly 90,000 graduates
00:32who serve in various fields.
00:35He said this after opening the 60th MCA Youth Annual General Meeting at Wisma MCA on Saturday.
00:42Dr. Ma also called on all youth leaders to remain resilient, especially during challenges.
00:50Calling on MCA youth leaders to be sensitive and to respond faster with more accuracy at
00:55any time, he also urged young people to join MCA youth to safeguard the nation's future.
01:01Meanwhile, in his speech, MCA youth chief Ling Tian Soon also referenced the popular
01:07La Bu Bu toy, urging youth leaders to actively engage with the youths.
01:13He said, we must be willing to immerse ourselves in the world of the youth to understand their
01:18thoughts, trends, and the issues they care about most.
01:22He adds, understanding the thoughts and feelings of young people is crucial for leaders to
01:27connect and resonate with their audience.
01:30Ling also urged the government not to be shy to bring back the goods and services tax,
01:35which is a globally recognized effective and fair tax system that can increase revenue
01:40and support pro-people policies.
