00:00Hello everyone and welcome. Welcome to the 3D Moon door.
00:07This video here, as you may know, if you've already downloaded the door, I'll show you the geometry for the door.
00:13The door is perfect. Now of course, on the door, you can see the ring around the door.
00:18If you want to click on the ring around the edge, on here look, on the edge bar, select all the edges.
00:27If you turn it sideways in Blender, you can extrude it, you can pull it out a bit.
00:32So it's got like a little bit of a lip on the door, which will look great.
00:36Especially if you do kind of like a gold colour around the edge of the door.
00:40If you want to do that, you can. Or you can just leave it like that.
00:44So maybe start off like that, and later on, maybe the gold ring comes around it.
00:50It all depends on how you want to do it.
00:52Now I want to give you a couple of options for a different type of door.
00:56As you know, this door is animated or played.
00:59It goes like this, the door opens. It's a 60 second animation, just so you know that.
01:04Obviously, that's open, and then when you click it again, you actually close it.
01:09Now this door, number 3, because it's got 3 circles, basically.
01:15It's got 3 circles, 3 moons, whatever you want to call it.
01:18As I said, that's the geometry for it.
01:21So I'd like to show you my content, just so you can see that it's all perfect.
01:25So, anyway, door number 2 is the same door, except I'm going to have a circle here, a circle here, and not one here.
01:37Door number 1 is, there's no circle here, no circle here, but there's a circle here.
01:44I'm going to show you door number 1.
01:46Door number 1, at the moment, is not animated, but I'll show you.
01:50This is door number 1.
01:52As I said, I've done the doors backwards, not forward.
01:56So I'll give you a 3, 2, 1.
01:59That's what I've done. I'll show you the geometry for this door.
02:02Now, as you may look at it, it must be back to front.
02:06Ah, I did that for a reason. I'll show you.
02:09See all that?
02:11You see how both of them are back to front?
02:13OK, how can we do it for a reason?
02:16Because on the door itself, if you look at the door, at night time, maybe, maybe the moon's in the sky.
02:25It's supposed to be the sky, apparently.
02:27According to McKinnell, when it's night time, the moon comes up.
02:32Now, of course, imagine it's still like that, except now the moon goes dark.
02:41See?
02:43So, if you look up a window, it's not just one window.
02:47It's got a night window.
02:49It's got a day window.
02:51Just for the werewolves and things like that.
02:55And all kinds of creatures in the game.
02:57The window will change on a cycle.
03:01So the cycle itself will transform.
03:04Like, if you go to this window, all the windows will be the same.
03:09So I will put the door cycle on the window.
03:13Now, you probably haven't thought of that.
03:16And you probably think that I'm not going to do that, but I am.
03:19What I'm going to do, I'm going to have a moon in the middle of the window.
03:23Now, the moon can travel all the way up to the top.
03:28It can travel back to the middle.
03:31And it can travel to the bottom.
03:33So, it's up to you how you want the moon to travel.
03:38And in which direction you would like it to go.
03:42Of course, you don't have to do that.
03:44Of course, it's going to look a whole lot better on this door.
03:49Because there's no windows here or here.
03:52I can animate the window going down.
03:55So, it looks like the moon is kind of going off the screen into the door.
04:02But it's not. It's just changing colour.
04:04That's what it's doing.
04:05So anyway, I will do that later.
04:08When I start animating the door properly.
04:10As I said, I do animation on this door.
04:12So, I can't show you how to open and close it.
04:14After I've done door number 2.
04:18What I will do, I will do the animation for door number 1.
04:23And then I will do the animation for door number 2.
04:27So, if you're looking for the animation for it.
04:29The animation is basically this animation here.
04:32It's the same animation for all the doors.
04:34So, all the doors have the same animation.
04:37So, if you want to apply one animation to all the doors.
04:41Of course, you can do that.
04:43So, as I said, the animation is 60 seconds.
04:46Just to let you know that.
04:48So, you can speed it up or slow it down.
04:51As I said, it's on a keyframe.
04:52So, you can open and close it whenever you want.
04:54So, as I said, I hope you like this door.
04:57I really do.
04:58As I said, when I do my very first video log of the very first item.
05:03No matter if it's the first door or the last door.
05:05It doesn't matter.
05:06The very first video is the longest video of all of them.
05:09Okay.
05:10So, just to let you know that.
05:12And because the door basically can't be made.
05:14I've told you that in the video.
05:16Of course, to make door number 1 is easy.
05:21Because door number 3 is already made.
05:23So, basically, I will start from the end.
05:27And work backwards.
05:29All I have to do, instead of adding geometry to my level.
05:33All I have to do is delete the geometry on the door.
05:38So, instead of having 3 windows, now I've got 1.
05:41And instead of having 1, I'm just going to add a window to it.
05:46That's all I'm going to do.
05:47Very easy. Very simple.
05:49So, anyway.
05:50As I said, I do show you through each step of the process.
05:54So, as I said, if you're waiting for the video animation for door number 1.
05:59It's the same animation for door number 3.
06:01So, if you watch the animation for that.
06:02It's the same animation.
06:03Just in case you missed it.
06:05I will obviously give you 2 more animations.
06:08One for the first door.
06:09And another one for the second door.
06:12And hopefully, by the time you get to door 3.
06:16Hopefully, you'll learn exactly how to animate your object.
06:20Now, of course, my animations.
06:22Because I want to blend them in.
06:23You can move the animation anywhere in the world.
06:26And it just works.
06:28Just so that you know that.
06:30Anyway, as I do say.
06:31Thumbs up or thumbs down.
06:32It's your choice.
06:33I want to keep it that way.
06:34Keep it text friendly.
06:36Because kids read the text.
06:37I very much appreciate it.
06:38Anyway, stay safe.
06:39See you soon.
06:40Bye.
