00:002020, we are seeing a lot of really cool devices that are slated for release, so I thought
00:07I'd make a quick video talking about the stuff I'm most interested in and I guess why.
00:12So the big one, more folding phones, but this time instead of these first generation ones,
00:17we're seeing these other implementations.
00:19So first we have that Razer foldable phone that's going to be officially available for
00:23purchase at the end of January, but way more interesting to me is the idea of that Samsung
00:29clamshell foldable.
00:30So they showed the technology a couple months ago, but they're supposed to be releasing
00:34their version of a clamshell foldable phone at MWC in February.
00:39And the reason why I'm more interested in that phone than say something like the traditional
00:43Galaxy Fold is that I've played with the big fold, like the big boy, $2,000 Galaxy Fold,
00:49and it's a really cool device in your hand to look at and to play with, but just functionally
00:53as a phone that you would actually use as a regular person to like fit in your pocket,
00:57that thing is huge.
00:58So I don't feel like the usability is a good fit for me.
01:01I just prefer a smaller phone that unfolds into a larger screen device instead of a large
01:07phone that unfolds into an even larger device.
01:09But also that Samsung clamshell is supposed to be coming out at around an $800, $900 price
01:15point, which is way more affordable than the $2,000 big boy Galaxy Fold.
01:20And if you think about like just adoption, that sounds like it'll move the needle for
01:24adoption of foldable phones.
01:27The other thing I'm interested in is the S11.
01:29So the S10 this year was a very well-received phone, but the S11 looks stacked, like way
01:35more than I thought it would be.
01:36And it's supposed to come out in March.
01:37I'm going to see stuff like 120 hertz screens, a 5,000 milliamp hour battery, a 108 megapixel
01:42camera, a Snapdragon 865, like this thing's going to be loaded.
01:46However, there's supposedly no headphone jack.
01:48So I mean, we're going to miss that.
01:50But this is why I'm interested in the S11.
01:52For the past couple of years, Samsung's camera has been better than what Apple has offered
01:58on their phones, like the iPhones.
02:00And I feel like Apple finally caught up with the iPhone 11 this year.
02:03I'm really curious to see what Samsung does, especially with that kind of hardware.
02:07Now, I don't know how I feel about the cluster of cameras that we're seeing on the back of
02:11all the renders.
02:12If those renders are accurate and the S11 does look like this, I mean, it won't be my
02:16favorite design aesthetic, but maybe I'll get used to it.
02:18I think it's just, it's become a thing.
02:20Ever since we've seen like a few big flagship phones with a group of lenses on the back,
02:25now it's a thing.
02:26Other stuff I'm interested in, cameras.
02:28So there's two kind of production cameras I'm interested in.
02:31First is that new Canon camera, the 1DX Mark III.
02:35But the big one for me, the thing that I'm like most stoked about is the new RED camera
02:39that's coming out.
02:40It's the RED Komodo.
02:42And it's like this cube body that's smaller, lighter, higher res, and cheaper than the
02:47current RED camera they shoot off of.
02:49So I'm pretty excited for that.
02:50I hope it's not crazy expensive because I really want to pick one up.
02:53And then later on in the spring, maybe even the summer, we're going to see new laptop
02:59GPUs from NVIDIA.
03:00So these are going to be like the RTX Super laptop GPUs.
03:04You're not going to see massive performance gains at the top end, but it's more important
03:08at the bottom end.
03:09Like this year alone, we saw some really great performance and like the $900 price point
03:14for gaming laptops and a bump up in performance at that price point is going to be really
03:18nice.
03:19So we're going to see some very high performing laptops at the $800, $900 price range.
03:24Okay.
03:25The thing that I'm most interested in though, for 2020, the upcoming iPhones.
03:30Like this year's iPhones were really good, but just not attractive enough to me to purchase
03:33one for personal use.
03:35So they're supposed to come out with five iPhones next year.
03:38So the first one is going to be the iPhone SE2 or whatever they want to call it.
03:41It's supposed to look very similar to the iPhone 6 all the way through iPhone 8, like
03:46that kind of old school look, but it's been updated with new internals and a relatively
03:51inexpensive price.
03:53And then in the fall, they're slated to release their full lineup of the four new iPhones.
03:58So iPhone 12 or 11S, whatever they end up calling it, it's supposed to be a new design
04:01with bigger screens and smaller bezels and support for 5G.
04:05It's just new hardware and it's something I've been looking forward to, which is why
04:08I haven't purchased a new iPhone for myself in the past two years.
04:11I've been waiting for that bigger change and that's what next year offers, but that's the
04:16stuff I'm looking forward to in 2020.
04:18What about you?
04:19What are you most interested in for next year?
04:21Hope you guys enjoyed this video.
04:22Thumbs if you liked it, subs if you loved it.
04:24See you guys next time.
