00:00I'm Councillor Nicola Day. I was here today representing Alton Waterville residents from the ward.
00:06I've been running regular meetings because they did feel that they weren't consulted really, really regularly.
00:13I know AEPG and the applicant were making suggestions that they were but actually there were small consultations going on
00:20but there wasn't a big open public consultation that everybody knew about that they could go to.
00:24So I set that up myself. I've worked diligently with residents since July this year
00:29and we're pleased 650 didn't go through. We're concerned about the 850 but it doesn't feel as harsh a blow as 1500 homes
00:37plus all that leisure with the multi-storey car park, the conference facilities, the leisure activities.
00:44We just felt, and as was just shown in the committee meeting today, there is still outstanding issues with access
00:50and access absolutely should have been mitigated and been really clear about what was happening in terms of access
00:58today at this meeting and I really drove that point home and it was something that residents were very concerned about.
01:03So, mixed feelings.
