Comedian Shawn Chidiac had an interview about his first time on stage at Breitling's 140 year celebration

00:00First time I was on stage was actually an accident. I had DM'd a comedian in Dubai

00:04to get five minutes of his time just to understand what the scene looks like and

00:07how to just get involved with it and he has said come we'll give you

00:11five at this place in JBR at the time.

00:18But the first time I recognized that I wanted to do comedy and first time I

00:22realized that there was something I liked and maybe started to get better at

00:25was when I was a kid there's this show that always used to be in the background of

00:28the house which is called Mind Your Language which had like the whole cast

00:31was people from different countries and they had different accents and my mom

00:34who at the time was working two jobs came home like really late typical upset

00:38mom's the type of woman that smiles like this and she was in the kitchen and I

00:43remember I recited something from the from the show and she didn't laugh but

00:47she she like turned to me and she just her face cracked a little bit she just

00:52smiled and I realized if I can make my mom smile I can make anyone laugh.

00:56The first live show I ever watched was Trevor Noah in 2014 Firsts to Come is

01:01actually the entire like my entire life is just beginning now so I've been doing

01:07accents for a long time but the first character I ever came up with was Darwin

01:11who's my kuya he's the Bill Peet's guy and there was a video I can't do it now

01:16I'm in the accent I cannot go out so we're here together there was a

01:19restaurant called Saudi Kitchen for VIP persons and so I did the video saying

01:25that you know this is how the kitchen for VIP people and I was their door

01:29greeter for like five minutes and not actually but in the character so that

01:33was the first one I did that is Darwin.

01:38I think the first person to make me belly laugh and like wheeze from my

01:43lungs was my sister she had been like tickling me like crazy and I thought I

01:48was gonna die I was a kid at the time and I was you know when you're laughing

01:52so hard you literally think you're gonna die and I was like begging her to stop

01:55and she didn't so I was like she's trying to kill me so I hid her hand away

01:58and then she was chasing me and she had hit her head on the door trying to

02:01follow me and she fell on the floor and I was laughing because she had already

02:03tickled me and then watching her fall on the floor also made me laugh.

02:06My first Breitling collaboration it was really funny I had I had dressed up as

02:10you know in full full Breitling attire and I had come and I was trying to sell

02:15the watch as Egyptian Baba is my character and I was selling the Ivingor

02:18first Breitling watch is this Chronomat it was my first and I had bought a

02:24second one with the Ivingor because I loved what I sold I bought myself.

02:29It's a very good watch.
