As recovery efforts continue from Helene and Milton throughout the Southeast, here's a breakdown of how this week's weather will affect everyone involved.

00:00Our top story takes us to Western North Carolina where some are living in tents after Helene's
00:05devastating impacts and now with that cold air that's going to bring a new hurdle to those both
00:10recovering and helping out with the recovery process. This is a pretty sad scene here with
00:15people in tents especially just knowing that their homes have literally in some cases washed away and
00:21they have no place to go. Temps are going to be into the low to mid-30s out there mid-30s for a
00:26lot of us in the higher elevations and look at the debris that's been kind of caught by some of the
00:31vegetation or the rocks along the riverbanks that have really been kind of expanded by that
00:36extremely destructive water. There's the coastal storm and this is going to be moving up into an
00:42area off the east coast. It is just far enough east that it's going to be almost no impact to
00:47land. The exception would be the eastern part of the North Carolina area here around Cape Hatteras
00:53up into Corolla south of Kill Devil Hill. Some light rain is falling. It is sending a little bit
00:58of an extra onshore breeze. The general circulation around this whole low is sending again a little bit
01:04more wind down into areas like coastal Florida. So we are dealing with some coastal flooding during
01:09each high tide cycle but most of us are back to dry weather. We've had some showers in the Florida
01:13Keys earlier today. One downpour northwest of Homestead not amounting to much here just an
01:18isolated downpour for some. Let's take you up to Taylor County Florida. This is close to the point
01:22of landfall. Taylor County is home to Keaton Beach. They're close to the point of landfall
01:27for Helene a couple of weeks ago and as the sun set some of the trees maybe a little more ravaged.
01:32It's hard to tell with the resolution of this camera if those trees are damaged or not but you
01:36can see a utility truck in view and again it's been three plus weeks here since we were really
01:41devastated in Taylor County up there near Keaton Beach and just inland with some of the the
01:47destructive wind from Helene. Farther south near the Tampa area still many without power there and
01:54you can see the destructive damage there. This is in western Tennessee there Hartford Tennessee.
01:59So whether it was from Milton with the power outages in Florida or up to the north the impacts
02:05of Helene there's so much work to be done that continues even under a blue sky. River flooding
02:10continues under a blue sky here in central Florida and satellite radar combination shows that cool
02:15chilly flow from the north. At least we're not adding to any of the rain in recent rain gauge
02:20excesses and here's some footage from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just incredible to see so many trees
02:27down. A sad scene as this person on on Twitter and X had initially said when they were seeing
02:35some of this damage here. Typically leaf peeping is not accompanied by the destruction that you're
02:40seeing there. We're going to have a stiff onshore wind here into eastern Florida through the next
02:45several high tide cycles right in through the weekend. So just these splashes of coastal flooding
02:49every high tide. It's a full moon officially at seven something tomorrow morning. So tonight to
02:53tomorrow morning high tide is going to be a strong especially strong because of the full moon. We're
03:00down 15 degrees below average tonight in Tampa Damien. That's very chilly and where some of those
03:05people are intense mid 30s tonight for lows. Again if you're camping in November and you plan for it
03:11that's one thing but this is a very different situation. Well whenever Helene hit some of these
03:16areas were seeing highs in the mid upper 80s. So that's what they were prepared for. That's what
03:20happened when the storm hit. Now they're seeing this. There could be some deadly consequences here
03:24with some folks seeing overnight temperatures dipping to around freezing with no electricity
03:29for heaters.
