00:00And at this point, let's discuss the updates on the programs of the current administration here in Mr. President on the go.

00:22First of all, fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.

00:26led the implementation of the 2023 Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award

00:32to the 13 companies that showed their determination and dedication in their responsible mining.

00:40From 35 companies, 13 mining and mineral processing companies were chosen as recipients of the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award.

00:54This Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award was formed under Executive Order No. 399, Series of 1997.

01:03It recognizes the outstanding performance and dedication of mining and mineral processing companies,

01:11particularly their efforts to promote the safety, health, safety, and well-being of the communities where their operations are carried out.

01:21According to our President, the awardees showed strong support for the vision of the government in the mining sector.

01:29They continue to invest in environmental technologies and do the best practices,

01:35including reforestation efforts to further utilize the sustainable extraction techniques.

01:42Congratulations to the awardees.

01:44Meanwhile, the President also urged his fellow countrymen to continue to contribute to the prosperity of the country

01:51as well as the protection of our environment.

01:54The President also wished for a simple and fair mining system.

02:00To achieve this, the President called on lawmakers to support the Rationalization of the Mining Fiscal Regime.

02:08The Rationalization of the Mining Fiscal Regime was also mentioned by President Marcos, Jr. in his speech.

02:14The Rationalization of the Mining Fiscal Regime is important for a fair mining environment for all involved.

02:21The Rationalization of the Mining Fiscal Regime establishes a 40-year margin-based royalty

02:28from 1.5% to 5% of the income from mining operations outside the mineral reservations.

02:35The President also urged the DNR to strengthen its regulatory capabilities in the mining industry.

02:41This is to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

02:46And that is the update on the programs of the current Administration.
