00:00Let's take a look at where we sit in the NLCS right now.
00:06The Dodgers are still the favorite despite this series being 1-1 and the next three games
00:10playing in Queens.
00:11The Dodgers minus 156, the Mets at a plus 132 price.
00:15Let's sit there first.
00:16Number one, Dubsy, do you agree the Dodgers should be the favorite in the series despite
00:20it being 1-1?
00:21And also, which side would you might be looking towards for the rest of this series here?
00:27I agree with the oddsmakers.
00:28Donny, if you look at the series with two games being in the books, we've now got a
00:32best of five.
00:33And as you highlight, the next three are going to be out there at Citi Field.
00:36So I think the Mets have got a really good chance of doing a bit of damage here, especially
00:40in their ballpark and hopefully trying to claim this series.
00:44I mean, it pains me to say that, but I think the Dodgers are up on the ropes and the Mets
00:49have shown us time and time again here in 2024 that as soon as you count them out, they
00:54just turn it back and punch you right in the throat.
00:56We saw that in game two, returning serve seven to three of the Dodgers.
01:01So I like the look of the Mets.
01:03You've got plus money, you've got the next three, so you can really try and build a bit
01:07of momentum in your building.
01:08If they pick up two of the next three, I think they've got a really good chance being a team,
01:13a side, an offense that can play in any park, especially out on the West Coast, the Dodgers
01:19Stadium.
01:20So I like the plus money.
01:21I like the look of the Mets.
01:23I cannot believe I'm saying that, Donnie, going against my hometown Dodgers here, but
01:27I just think the way the series looks to play out, the arms for LA just been a little spotty.
01:32That's going to be the play for me.
01:35We talk about resiliency and that's certainly what the New York Mets have become here in
01:392024.
01:40A baseball team over the summer where they're trading away their older assets, just looking
01:44to get younger, play it out and maybe hit the free agency market at the end of 2024.
01:49Hasn't been the case.
01:50the end of the season, played their way into a play-in game on a Monday, played their way
01:55then into the playoffs, then knocking off the Philadelphia Phillies, the Milwaukee Brewers,
02:00and you get beat nine to nothing in game number one of the NLCS.
02:03Ah, Mets, thanks for playing.
02:05Thanks for coming along.
02:06And then the Mets return that favor in game number two.
02:09It's going to be a crazy scene at Citi Field.
02:11That New York crowd is going to be ready for the Los Angeles Dodgers, that East Coast,
02:16West Coast thing.
02:17It always plays into it.
02:18But if we are looking at the series itself, Dubsy, two games played in LA, three games
02:22now going to be played at Citi Field, and then two games, if needed, back in Los Angeles,
02:27the number for the series to end five and a half games to the over, it's hefty at a
02:33minus 350 price, the under at a plus 270.
02:36To me, this screams extended series for me, Dubsy.
02:42It really does.
02:43Games five and a half, let's send the overs there.
02:47Be nice little series, wouldn't it, Donnie?
02:49Dodgers, Mets, going all the way to seven games.
02:51But I do think that the upper hand, the advantage squarely looks to be pointed towards the Mets.
02:57And I think they've got a really good chance in game three, if they can take two of the
03:01next three at Citi before coming back out to the West Coast, I think they've got a shot
03:06at trying to finish this thing off.
03:07And for the Dodgers, they've got that pedigree, they've got that star power, but they've
03:12also got that ability to just go missing at times.
03:16And the resiliency and that moxie, that grit that you highlighted from the Mets, it looks
03:21to be tailor-made for October baseball.
03:25We've seen that through the last couple of weeks, and I don't think they're going to
03:28be deterred by the situation, at least not overroared by it.
03:33And if you look at the teams remaining out of the four, who's the pressure on?
03:37Who's got the most to lose going into this series?
03:41It's going to be the Dodgers again for Dave Roberts.
03:44They spent all this money and it's the starting arms, which I think are going to be the concern
03:51for this series, trying to take down the Mets.
03:53So give me New York, give me a series that goes the distance, let's get it to a game
03:57seven.
03:58But I think the Mets could have a good chance of prevailing, even if it does come out here
04:03to the West Coast to finish off.
