00:00Job security, good pay, corporate binding, you know, a stationary boring existence, blah blah blah,
00:11or become a vagabond, a wayward youth if you might say, and just do odd shit, go odd places.
00:21You know, live the free life that a lot of people, at least for as long as I can, that a lot of people would recommend.
00:28Because I'm now living in the city, have a nice apartment, blah blah blah, I have high expenses,
00:33I'm kind of now beholden to the job, I can't leave, because, you know, everything, it's kind of like a loop,
00:41one side feeds into the other. So I got myself stuck, but now all of a sudden, calamity struck,
00:48and I am instantly released from all contractual obligation, like my work hasn't opened up again fully,
00:55so I'm not expected to really go back there, unless I really want to, I've been released of my rent agreement,
01:03on and on, so like, yeah, I can just get up and leave, which is what I'm getting at.
01:11I can just straight up get up and leave if I wanted to. I have some savings, I can just hop in my car,
01:17take a direction and go, you know, and find odd work along the way, see friends, travel,
01:22you know, the type of meandering lifestyle that every guy, every young guy fantasizes about,
01:28or every old man, or older man I've spoken to, tries to coerce me into taking that leap, taking that plunge,
01:35and just going for it. Because, yeah, because they kind of did what I was on track to do,
01:44and settle into a career too soon, and then bing bang boom, you have kids and a white picket fence,
01:48who am I kidding, I can't talk to women, a white picket fence and a job, and now you're just kind of stuck in one place,
01:53and it would really, it would be really shitty, kind of, ordeal to leave that just abruptly.
01:59But I've been forced out of that abruptly, and I can kind of go wherever and do whatever now.
02:03So I guess all of this to say, kind of get it off my chest, and just occupy myself while I'm wandering through,
02:10probably sewage, is I want to figure out what to do with myself.
02:15And my options, my biggest options are, A, just thug it out, stay put, try to rebuild a life,
02:21return to a well-paying life that I hated, or just, this is definitely shit or something, this reeks,
02:28or I cash out, and just release myself from my remaining obligations, get in my car,
02:38which is the only surviving thing from this flood, and get some new clothes,
02:43and call up a couple friends, and just disappear, and drive, you know, zigzag across the country,
02:48do cool shit, go cool places, until I run out of money, or until I go through about half my savings,
02:55because I want to leave enough to be able to get first-munch rent in an apartment,
02:59and have enough to get just some job, doing whatever, anywhere.
03:03I could bartender some shit, that might be a good idea, I need to learn how to do that.
03:09Yeah, so I don't know. So, like, follow, subscribe, comment down below,
03:14I don't know what platform I'm going to post this on, it's going to be a long video,
03:17and, I don't know, give me your two cents.
03:20Because right now, a bit of normalcy would be, you know, a job, some routine, paycheck, that's great,
03:26money is nice, seeing as I am currently without, I mean, I have money, I'm not like in dire,
03:33dire straits, but I would like to have income again by the end of the year, just something to fall back on.
03:40So, they're trying to get me back, but I am homeless, I am without possession,
03:45and I am couch-hopping from friends' houses to my parents' house, etc.
03:50Like, the closest I've been, in terms of where I've laid my head in the last ten days,
03:56was, like, over an hour away from work.
03:59So, I don't know. Again, I'm rambling, I'm laying out in probably too much detail my current fucked-up situation,
04:06and I just don't know what to do. That's why I'm putting this out there.
04:10This is going to be a long video, deal with it.
04:17God, this place is filthy.
04:19So, my options are, try to get a hotel, and go back, you know, so I can have a consistent place to sleep,
04:26and go back to work, and work for who knows how long on absolutely miserable hours,
04:31which is, like, they're just blunt about that.
04:33They're like, yeah, it's gonna suck when you come back, but please come back.
04:36So, like, sucky work.
04:39Money would be good, having money again.
04:41I would basically have no overhead, aside from, like, gas and a hotel,
04:45so I'd be able to save a bunch of money.
04:47But at the same time, I don't want to do that.
04:51I hated my corporate job before.
04:53Like, it was well-paying, and blah blah blah, because I had responsibilities.
04:58I was in, you know, I was living in a nice thriving city, I was living in a nice new apartment,
05:04I was making good money, yada yada,
05:06and, like, you know, it's the type of life I had stumbled into,
05:11through luck and, like, persistence,
05:15the type of life that some people work ten years to get into.
05:18So, I definitely am not downplaying how fortunate I was in that regard.
05:22And I could still be, but it also sucked.
05:25It was soul-crushing.
05:26I'm 22, haven't been 22 for terribly long,
05:29and I am not prepared, like all my coworkers,
05:32who are at least twice, if not three times my age, on their third divorce,
05:36who live at work, they bitch to me all the time,
05:39because I, you know, I would get there early,
05:43but I wouldn't stay a lick past my contractually allowed time.
05:46You know, at the end of my shift, I wouldn't stick around.
05:49They're like, why don't you want to stay past nine?
05:51I'm like, that's nine p.m.!
05:52I gotta, like, do laundry and cook dinner and shit.
05:55I'm not sticking around all day.
05:56You live at work, not me.
05:59And so, it's a great job if I had kids and a mortgage,
06:03and I just wanted to stay put for, like, a decade.
06:05But I don't.
06:06It was just a means to make money,
06:09but then it kind of, the irony is, like,
06:12I got the job because it would let me live in the city,
06:15and, you know, live in a nice apartment for a little bit,
06:17but then, now that I'm living in the city,
06:20well, I'm about to ramble a little bit,
06:22so I figured why not do some urban exploration
06:27through the newly-made mudflats.
06:30I've always wanted to peek inside this building,
06:32and now that it's kind of, like, abandoned as hell,
06:35I may get my chance.
06:36I think it might have been abandoned before,
06:38but now I feel more justified poking around
06:40because this place is like a gated-off seclusion zone.
06:46But anyway, mmm, squishy.
06:49Um, I am and I'm not asking for advice
06:56to strangers on the internet,
06:58or from strangers on the internet.
07:00However, I am faced with a bit of a pickle,
07:03a bit of a dilemma.
07:04As you can see, my home, my neighborhood, my house,
07:09oh, that is sketchy as fuck.
07:11We're going in.
07:12And my, just, my life has been completely turned upside down,
07:18caked with mud, swept away.
07:20I, like, okay, cool, stuff can be replaced,
07:24I can find another apartment.
07:25Well, probably not,
07:26because every other newly-displaced person in the city
07:29is desperately renting out or buying anything they can,
07:33you know, to have a place to put their head.
07:36Um, I'm gonna get so dirty.
07:39So, I could probably find living in the city again,
07:43or in the area,
07:44because my work, you know, my next point,
07:47is my work is very, um,
07:50overzealously trying to open up again.
07:54Um, like, today,
07:56or I think today might have been the first, like,
07:58skeleton crew day,
07:59and, uh, next week they're hoping to be back in full operation.
08:03Um, a bit of, uh, a bit of a further clarification there.
08:09I work, or worked, in an aerospace facility.
08:13I cannot, I cannot contractually go into detail what I did,
08:17but basically, I, uh, I looked at,
08:20looked at, um, parts for military aircraft,
08:25and made sure they were good to go,
08:27and did stuff, and crunched numbers,
08:29and argued with engineers and all that stuff all the time for,
08:33you know, to make sure everything was Gucci.
08:37They are trying to open up again,
08:39because Big Daddy Military Industrial Complex
08:41waits for no natural disaster.
08:43They are, they have been calling me,
08:45borderline harassing me,
08:47all week, uh, trying to see, like,
08:50hey, uh, can you come back to work?
08:52Like, hey, you know, you wanna sleep in a conference room
08:55and come back to work and work 12 hours a day,
08:57mandatory overtime, and all this stuff,
09:00and oh, by the way, we haven't been able to reach any of your other coworkers,
09:03so it's all gonna be you in the department doing everyone's job.
09:05Like, it's gotta be great.
09:06We're not gonna give you any kind of financial compensation,
09:08but you get to work extra time for us!
09:11Yay!
09:12All that normal corporate bullshit.
09:14And I could do that.
