Ahead of his oath-taking as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah expressed his anticipation of working with the Indian government. However, he acknowledged that leading a Union Territory presents unique challenges. Abdullah emphasized the importance of cooperation but noted the complexities of governing in this status, as Jammu and Kashmir continues to navigate its distinct political landscape following its reorganization as a Union Territory.

01:27We look forward to working in cooperation with Government of India to resolve the people's problems.
01:38And the best way to do that would be to start by restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
