00:00Piazza is a place for its history, for its open and inclusive nature.
00:12Piazza is the place where thousands and thousands of writers,
00:16film directors, poets have set their stories.
00:21Piazza is an unpredictable place where anything can happen.
00:27It's a crime, a religious ceremony, a political administration, a love scene.
00:35So it's the place that tells better than anything else what our cities are.
00:41Italy and Germany, which are cities, have this in common
00:46and it seemed right to rebuild a square here, an allegory of an Italian square.
00:52I believe that there is nothing like a square to symbolize real freedom,
00:56that is, the freedom of any behavior.
00:59There are no codes, there are no prohibitions.
01:02I hope that in the next few days everyone can come here,
01:06without any exclusion, and that here we can discuss, as always,
01:10talk, relax, talk about a book, meet an author, an editor.
01:15In short, this is the meaning of this place.
