00:00A new study has revealed the best destinations for gig-tripping in the UK.
00:06The study by Miss Tourist analysed different metrics, including the number of music venues
00:11and music festivals, the average daily cost of public transport and taxis, and the average
00:17cost of dinner for two in a pub.
00:19Leeds has been ranked third, just behind London and Birmingham, and we can now hear about
00:23some of your gig experiences.
00:26I think people that come to Leeds are very, very lucky because I have friends that go
00:29and see different acts all the time, and really I think we're quite spoilt in these
00:33because there's so many different acts and there's so many different places where they
00:36can perform.
00:38And so I think a lot of people do come to Leeds to see performances of their favourite
00:43entertainers.
00:44Who have we seen recently?
00:45We saw Lemon Twix.
00:46Yeah, we sometimes go to Bruton L, which is kind of maybe our pub of choice, and this
00:52guy had these two free tickets because I think his wife and his stepson didn't go, so we
00:58just got given them free tickets.
00:59Score.
01:00Good for us.
01:01And that was good.
01:02We don't really go to a lot of gigs, like sort of instrumental stuff.
01:05We saw our friends play recently.
01:06Yeah, we see quite a few of our friends play.
01:08At like Old Red, and it's sort of more like maybe DJ stuff and kind of electronic music
01:13like that.
01:14There is, I think, a great kind of like small community of like music happening, mostly
01:19in like venues like Hyde Park Book Club and like Bruton L and all that.
01:25I'm part of like the music library, I'm vice president of the music library at the university
01:28and we have like a gig coming up, it's like Halloween, so it is, and it's like Strange
01:33Brain, we're throwing it at Fenton, so we are, so we've got like plenty of stuff like
01:37that, a great small band and playing.
01:40Really good, there's loads on.
01:42First Direct Arena's great, I'm off to go see Becky Hill on Wednesday, so, yeah.
01:47There's a guy outside Trinity called Steven, who does a bit of singing every now and then,
01:55he's quite alright.
01:56No, he's really good, he's not quite alright, he's really good, bless him.
01:59He's very good, actually.
