00:06In Las Pinas City, a senior citizen stole a wallet inside a grocery store.

00:14The thief took the wallet, but when he returned it,

00:19almost P50,000 of his ATM card was stolen.

00:40This 63-year-old woman shed tears when she told how she stole a wallet

00:47in a grocery store in Barangay Almanza Uno, Las Pinas City.

00:51This happened on a Saturday afternoon.

00:54The victim, while she was buying groceries,

01:00a suspect, a gay man, stopped her.

01:06She kept apologizing.

01:08I was shocked.

01:11I told her, I'm sorry, but you're not letting go of my pushcart.

01:15It's been a long time since she let go of it.

01:18She didn't realize that her wallet was being stolen.

01:23The victim was distracted.

01:26Another suspect was behind her.

01:29He was trying to steal the victim's wallet.

01:34Less than an hour after she got her wallet,

01:38she learned that someone withdrew money from her bank account.

01:41Maybe they guessed my PIN number.

01:45When the CCTV returned,

01:47they saw two suspects walking from the bank.

01:51According to the suspect,

01:52the amount of money he withdrew from the victim's bank account

01:56was more than P50,000.

01:59That money was from my wife's SSS pension.

02:04My wife's burial was the other benefit.

02:11That's all I expected because I don't have a job anymore.

02:15After the two withdrew money,

02:17they were caught buying from a nearby grocery store.

02:20I received a text that they were buying from a nearby supermarket

02:26that was worth P29,000 or almost P30,000.

02:30The victim tried to block the transaction,

02:33but he was caught because the bank's ID was in the stolen wallet.

02:39Yesterday, the police received a report that the wallet was in the victim's son's possession.

02:45In their area, the accused is young.

02:48That's why the wallet was given to the victim's brother, the ATM.
