00:00an autopsy is expected possibly tomorrow to determine the cause of death. It has
00:05been identified that the deceased and the person in custody have been in a
00:10domestic relationship since 2003. There's been a number of reported incidents to
00:16police and it has been identified that the male who is currently in police
00:21custody is on parole and the parole relates to an assault that occurred on
00:28the victim who has now passed away. All of those matters are part of the
00:32investigation that is now underway. The tragedy is mounting and that tragedy is
00:36one that the Northern Territory cannot ignore. Seven matters being investigated
00:41by the Northern Territory Police as domestic homicides since 1 June of this
00:45year. The Northern Territory cannot accept one death let alone seven. It is
00:50something that the Northern Territory community needs to wake up to, deal with
00:55and not accept. Violence is not the answer.
