02:43See you in the next video.
02:45Bye-bye.
03:09Over mountain, through wood, is a land of high tales.
03:13The kingdom of good.
03:15Here, fish swim like elk.
03:18Lions fly through the trees.
03:20As we learn of life's values through lessons and deeds.
03:26My name is King Otis.
03:28And I rule this fair land.
03:30Along with Queen Mabel.
03:33Here, together, we stand.
03:36Now today, my fine children.
03:39If I might say so myself.
03:41I'll tell you a story.
03:43The story of King Otis.
03:45King Otis.
03:47King Otis.
03:49King Otis.
03:51If I might say so myself.
03:53I'll tell you a story.
03:55That I think will quite help.
03:57About minding your manners.
03:59And all in between.
04:01And bettering oneself.
04:03Which is all that we need.
04:05Hey, that's mine.
04:06I want to play with it.
04:08But it's mine.
04:09Dad.
04:10Kids.
04:11Silence, please.
04:15Today's story, it seems, will be of McFlicken.
04:18Who learns how to share in our magical kingdom.
04:48In the breeze and bright sunshine of the kingdom of good.
05:07Lived a creature named McFlicken.
05:10Part cat, part dog.
05:13With a little bee mixed in.
05:19McFlicken lived in the strongest branches of a very green tree.
05:33The tree was grand and towering.
05:36And was the only tree for miles around.
05:39In that same tree were four neighbors.
05:44A foos.
05:46A lurd.
05:48A swan.
05:50And a flea.
05:52They also lived in the branches of this great tree.
05:56But because McFlicken took all the strongest branches for himself.
06:01His neighbors were forced to live in the smaller, weaker ones.
06:08And it wasn't just branches he was selfish about.
06:12McFlicken didn't like to share anything.
06:15When, for instance, foos asked McFlicken to borrow a cup of tree worms.
06:22McFlicken replied that he had no extra worms to give.
06:32When lurd asked if he would share his wing repair glue.
06:37McFlicken replied.
06:40If I had any glue, you would be the last lurd I would give it to.
06:45After all, if I needed it, what would I do?
06:54Despite McFlicken's behavior.
06:57The foos, the lurd, the swan and the flea tried to include McFlicken in their games.
07:10But McFlicken always shooed them away.
07:28He preferred to spend his time daydreaming of a quick victory.
07:35He preferred to spend his time daydreaming of a quiet tree.
07:40With no neighbors and endless sleep.
07:54How nice it would be, he thought to himself.
07:58Not to share my big tree with anyone else.
08:03I could own this whole tree, every leaf, every branch.
08:09I could sleep till all hours if I just had the chance.
08:24One cool summer night.
08:26The foos, the lurd, the swan and the flea came up with an idea.
08:32They would form a musical band.
08:36Practice every day and perform a concert for McFlicken in their tree.
08:42Maybe our music, said the foos to the lurd,
08:46is all that he needs to help him have fun and play in our tree.
09:03Foos and flea practiced drumming.
09:09While swan played cymbals and lurd sang.
09:32Meanwhile, McFlicken became desperate for a way to have the tree all to himself.
09:41No longer could he tolerate neighbors, requests for bigger branches,
09:46playing of music or invitations to parties.
09:51As the noise from the four friends floated across the great green tree,
09:58McFlicken stewed in his bed.
10:08Finally, with his chest expanded and a grimace that made his whiskers tremor,
10:15he roared,
10:17I no longer want to share my big tree or its branches or leaves
10:24or hear noisy music that rings in my ears like ten dozen bees.
10:30And as for my wing glue and my precious tree worms,
10:35they're all meant for me, not for swans, fleas or lurds.
10:41So, get out, all of you, and never come back.
10:45You're not welcome here and don't bother to pack.
10:50The four creatures sailed scared down the tree and out into the dewy grass.
10:59They headed into the cold, damp air.
11:10I forgot my jacket, said the flea.
11:16My drums, said Foose, twisting his antlers.
11:21Where are we going to go?
11:24What are we going to do?
11:26McFlicken was elated.
11:46His dreams of having this big tree, the grandest in the kingdom all to himself,
11:53had suddenly come true.
12:01He no longer had to share his tree with anyone else.
12:07To celebrate, McFlicken fluffed up his pillow,
12:12stretched his dog legs,
12:15yawned,
12:18and went to bed.
12:24The End
12:32Meanwhile, the four friends continued slowly, sadly into the night.
12:38The only sounds to be heard were of sniffles and snorts,
12:42and of tears hitting the earth.
12:46I'll miss my tree, those branches, my friends surrounding me.
12:52Watch out for all those antlers.
12:55Why did we have to be so loud? It's hard with such a grouch.
12:59Landlords like McFlicken want us quiet as a mouse.
13:02So instead of lying down and sleeping very sound,
13:06I'm trekking, trekking, trekking across the ground.
13:09Trekking, trekking, trekking across the ground.
13:12Trekking, trekking, trekking across the ground.
13:15Walking in the night,
13:18I think I'm losing my sight.
13:22Homeless, treeless, seeless,
13:26forty days and forty nights.
13:28They call me Floose.
13:30I'm not a fish, I'm not a moose.
13:33But swim I can with antlers and a big fat old caboose.
13:36So I'm walking with my friends on a trip from here to Troy,
13:40all because of a little tiny noise.
13:43Blurred, blurred, that's me, that's me.
13:47Grown out, tossed out, evicted like a vagrant from my tree.
13:51Is that how I'm repaid? I shared my lemonade.
13:54Now I guess I'll learn a lesson away from all that shade.
13:58Sailing in the night,
14:01I think I'm losing my sight.
14:05Homeless, treeless, seeless,
14:09forty days and forty nights.
14:27I'm a swan, oh yes I am.
14:30And now look at me, no better garbage can.
14:34And my symbols, they're all gone.
14:38So all that we have left is this little song.
14:42What about me? I'm just a flea.
14:45How loud really can I be?
14:48How loud can he be? How loud can I be?
14:52Flying in the night,
14:55I think I'm losing my sight.
14:59Homeless, treeless, seeless,
15:03forty days and forty nights.
15:06So here we are.
15:08I guess we're walking.
15:10No TV or car.
15:12So we're just talking.
15:14I'm a swan.
15:15And a flea.
15:16Quiffler.
15:17And a foose.
15:18Beside me, side me, side me on the loose.
15:21Next time we'll use our quiet side.
15:25More quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly for a while.
15:37No.
15:56Morning arrived and McFlicken awoke with the sun.
16:01Immediately he realized something was different.
16:05Was it a dream, he wondered?
16:08It was still quiet.
16:10No swishing or swooshing or flipping or flapping.
16:13No snare drums or cymbals or tree branches smashing.
16:17And with that, McFlicken smiled to himself and went back to sleep.
16:24And went back to sleep.
16:55Afternoon came and still no signs of fooses, lirds or fleas.
17:04How wonderful, he thought.
17:08How perfectly wonderful.
17:11Many days passed like this, as summer turned to fall.
17:25And with fall, the sun came out less.
17:29Some days, not at all.
17:33Leaves trickled from their branches and the branches themselves drooped.
17:43Why do you sag, my lovely green tree, asked McFlicken one day.
17:51And tree answered his plea.
17:54How can I live with no sharing around?
17:58My great limbs will waste, I will shrink to the ground.
18:11Seasons passed in silence and the tree continued to weaken.
18:17The leaves had completely disappeared from the tree.
18:28The End
18:49McFlicken began to feel quite lonely.
18:58The End
19:08With so much silence, it was hard to sleep.
19:14Often he thought of his neighbours.
19:22Time continued to pass.
19:28It was rarely sunny anymore.
19:32But when the sun did shine, it was too bright.
19:48And when it rained, there was no shelter.
19:51And with the wind, it became dreadfully cold.
19:57McFlicken thought of borrowing an extra blanket.
20:01But with no neighbours, there could be no sharing.
20:07More than ever, McFlicken wished for his neighbours to return.
20:12Some days, he would think of something funny.
20:17But he had no one to share his jokes with.
20:23Other days, he imagined actually hearing the foos, or the flea.
20:29He would jump from his bed and look into the far horizon.
20:36But no one was ever there.
20:39No one ever came.
20:43And the more quiet he had, the more he wanted to share his jokes.
20:52The End
21:22And when the word flew past, I'd gasp and say,
21:26Alas, can't I please, please, please get some quiet around here?
21:33But now I'm sorry to say that I miss them.
21:39Not the noise per se, but more the zip then.
21:44Of chatter here and there, falling leaves and scraping chairs.
21:50I guess I'm sorry to say I miss them.
21:56Are loud sounds really all that bad?
21:59I'm not sure. Go ask your dad.
22:02And tell me quickly, quickly, quickly what he says.
22:06I think I'm ready to handle interruptions to my handle.
22:12From fooses, lerds and fleas, or even a swan, don't you see?
22:18But now I'm sorry to say that I miss them.
22:24Not the noise per se, but more the zip then.
22:29Of laughter here and there, falling leaves and scraping chairs.
22:35I guess I'm sorry to say I miss them.
22:48Did you know when you're alone, it's hard to share your little home?
23:12With others, don't you see how hard it is?
23:18Now if I had my druthers, I would invite my friends and brothers to a party in my tree.
23:28Music, dancing, rotisserie.
23:31Oh yes, I'm sorry to say that I miss them.
23:37Not the noise per se, but more the zip then.
23:42Of cawing here and there, falling leaves and scraping chairs.
23:47Oh yes, I'm sorry, sorry, sorry to say, oh no, okay, I miss them.
24:11Music, dancing, rotisserie.
24:40It was on the quietest of days that McFlicken heard a single loud chirp.
24:56What is that? McFlicken asked.
25:00Is that a sound that I heard?
25:04He looked up from his bed.
25:06It was a small baby lird, hidden in the tallest branch, just hatched from its nest.
25:34Oh, how happy McFlicken was to have a guest in his tree once again.
25:47He picked up the lird and comforted her.
26:01He took care of her and fed her.
26:10He flew with the little lird on his back to show her the kingdom.
26:34He was the happiest he had ever been.
26:39But he had no one else to share his happiness with.
26:45Especially now, he wanted his four tree friends to be with him.
27:10Other lirds flying by noticed the commotion in the tree and saw how McFlicken had changed.
27:25Soon, news of McFlicken and the baby lird spread across the entire kingdom.
27:42It even reached McFlicken's four tree friends, who were cooking mud pies by a fire.
27:51Do you think it's true? asked the swan.
27:54That McFlicken has changed?
27:56Will he share his great tree?
27:59Or is he completely deranged?
28:01The foos, the lird, the swan and the flea decided to go back and see for themselves.
28:10They traveled day and night until finally they arrived at the tree.
28:25When McFlicken saw his four tree friends, he cried with joy.
28:31My friends!
28:32My tree friends!
28:33Welcome home!
28:34Welcome back!
28:35The friends gathered around, astonished at the change in their old neighbor.
28:36McFlicken continued.
28:37I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.
28:38I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.
28:39I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.

29:11I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.
29:12I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.
29:13I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.
29:14I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.
29:15I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.
29:16I think I have learned from being alone the meaning of sharing and the sounds I call home.
29:18Now others from the kingdom gathered, said McFlicken with pride,
29:23It's true what they say, and today on this hour I do hereby proclaim
29:29that I'll share my great tree with you and all others,
29:34with fooses and fleas and their sisters and brothers.
29:47Just then the sun broke through the clouds.
30:02The great tree spread its branches.
30:06Already its leaves were coming back with new buds forming on its limbs.
30:17And the many creatures of the kingdom flocked to the tree.
30:47Each day thereafter more creatures came to visit McFlicken,
30:59and the tree limbs grew stronger, and the breezes skipped gently,
31:05and the clouds came no longer.
31:17Wow, what a great story!
31:21And where were you in it, Dad?
31:25Well, I was busy with the repair on the castle roof that day, but I heard all about it.
31:32Here, Paul, I'm sorry I didn't share my flyswatter with you.
31:37You can play with it.
31:39Wow, thanks.
31:41That's nice of you to share with your brother, Polk.
31:45Each time our kids bicker or fight or just scream,
31:49we'll tell them a tale that turns lessons to dreams.
31:54And now it is time to say our goodnights.
31:57For tomorrow holds more tales of wrongs turned to rights.
32:16I'll miss my tree, those branches, my friends surrounding me.
32:22Walking in the night.
32:26I think I'm losing my sight.
32:30Homeless, treeless, seeless.
32:34Forty days and forty nights.
32:37So here we are.
32:39I guess we're walking.
32:41No TV or car.
32:43So we're just talking.
32:45On the swan.
32:46And the flea.
32:47Quiffler.
32:48And the floose.
32:49Beside me, side me, side me on the loose.
32:52Next time we'll use our quiet side.
32:56More quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly, quietly for a while.
