Ryan and Brad react to Week 6 in the NFL and why they will keep fading Dallas and also the best value in betting the NFC North
Transcript
00:00Let's start with the embarrassment, a team that just absolutely got deep handed on national
00:04television and that was the Dallas Cowboys from start to finish just absorbing uppercut
00:10after uppercut and they fell to the mat in a hurry in a bloody heap against the Daytrua
00:16Lions losing 47 to 9.
00:20Here's where the pain really kicked in for your boy Horvat.
00:23Remember I had C.D. Lamb at 90 plus receiving yards in the old market?
00:27Yeah.
00:28He had that early in the third quarter and then Detroit kept scoring and they kept scoring
00:34again.
00:35Dak Prescott tried to feed him I think like three more times, missed him on those connections
00:40and it got out of hand and Cooper Rush comes to game, the starters sit down.
00:44I lost that bet by uno yard, mi amigo, one yard because Dallas can be even remotely competitive.
00:51Not bitter about it all, not irked by that but dims the brakes in gambling.
00:57Let's look at Dallas overall, a team that has now fallen to number 25 EPA per play offense
01:03of the season and even worse defensively at number 27.
01:08Coming off this drubbing, their next three, thankfully they have a bye if you're a Cowboys
01:12fan.
01:13I know a lot of people run Mike McCarthy out of town and for good reason but you come back,
01:19you're welcome at San Francisco coming off the bye, then at Atlanta and then Philadelphia.
01:25Not exactly an easy schedule, the next three games for this team and they're already two
01:29and four ATS.
01:31Does it continue to unravel for little D?
01:35I think it does.
01:36Coming into the season, my favorite win total bet, one of them, other than the Eagles over,
01:40which we'll see about that one, was Dallas under just because you could sell me on the
01:44Dallas Cowboys and Mike McCarthy if you have an offensive play caller like Kellen Moore,
01:49if you have a defensive coordinator like Dan Quinn but right now, you got Mike Zimmer and
01:54you got Mike McCarthy with really his fingerprints all over that offense.
01:57They come into the season and they say they want to run the ball more yet they dig up
02:01the corpse of Ezekiel Elliott.
02:02You have Rico Dottle.
02:03I don't love the running back room and yesterday it was bad, man.
02:06I mean, the counting stats are terrible.
02:07Dak Prescott, 17 to 32 passing, 178 yards, two interceptions.
02:13They were 0 for three in the red zone.
02:15They turned the ball over four times but it's the defensive side of the ball.
02:18I mean, they gave up 500 yards and it could have got even uglier if Hennon Hooker doesn't
02:23come in that game and if the Lions don't sit there, guys.
02:26So Dallas is cooked.
02:27I think they're going to miss the playoffs.
02:29I think Mike McCarthy probably out of a job at the end of the season.
02:32I mean, their offense, Brad averaged 3.9 yards per play.
02:36Little side note though, I also lost a bet yesterday that was heartbreaking.
02:39Aiden Hutchinson, defensive player of the year, he had two sacks, five pressures, a
02:4454.2% pass rushing opportunity grade in that game, two stops in the run game and then he
02:49goes down with that devastating injury.
02:51I was about to unload the clip on Lions Super Bowl futures and NFC futures and then that
02:55injury happens.
02:56We'll see what they're able to do.
02:57But yeah, Dallas is, uh, they're screwed, Brad, unless you disagree.
03:00I think they're in big trouble, man.
03:02Yeah.
03:03I condolences to Aiden Hutchinson.
03:04I mean, he, he was out a remarkable season and just a gruesome injury.
03:08I saw it a real time and I'm like, oh man, I don't want to see that again.
03:12They even show it again on the Fox broadcast.
03:14It was that bad and uh, you know, broken fibula.
03:17So he is done for the season.
03:19Hopefully there's not additional complications and get back on the field sometime next year.
03:22But the ripple effects are going to be now potentially catastrophic for Detroit.
03:27They're on that front line.
03:28Uh, but with the offensive talent they have, they can still hang in pretty much every single
03:33game remaining this season.
03:35Unlike Dallas, uh, which, uh, you know, there's the embarrassment of riches.
03:39They're the humiliation of suck right now.
03:42And I agree.
03:43Uh, they didn't make any, any, you know, sensible moves.
03:46I felt there in the off season on the offensive side of things, particularly the running back
03:50position.
03:51All right, let's go to your team now.
03:53Uh, and maybe the best conference, uh, in the NFC and one that's really highly competitive
03:57from top to bottom.
03:58And that is the NFC North.
04:00And of course the green Bay Packers Lambeau field.
04:04I look at the EPA data for this team.
04:06They were top 10, uh, number nine to be exact EPA per play offense, number eight and EPA
04:12per play defense.
04:13Uh, they DDT to Arizona.
04:16And you know, that was highly predictable with Arizona coming off the high of highs
04:20winning at San Francisco, you knew they were going to be, uh, you know, in store for a
04:23letdown game and a little bit of a, you know, slippery and sloppy conditions, uh, with the
04:28battling of the raindrops and the chills like in the forties and green Bay, uh, 34 13 was
04:34a final on that game.
04:35Next three, uh, for the pack, they get Houston at home at Jacksonville.
04:39Yes, please.
04:41And Detroit and that game being played at Lambeau team that has four and two ATS, your
04:47thoughts on green Bay, uh, are they a team that could maybe take this division though?
04:52Detroit, Chicago held, Minnesota.
04:54Everybody's in the conversation.
04:55Yeah.
04:56Nice win for the bears yesterday in London, even though it cost me a ton of money, um,
05:00you know, the Vikings still the team to beat big game coming up against Detroit.
05:04But if you wanted to look at the market, you know, and try to find a team to back the rest
05:08of the way after this Aiden Hutchinson injury, I think it would be the green Bay Packers,
05:11Jordan love.
05:12Now I know that's Arizona's defense, but now he looks fully healthy.
05:15He looked really good yesterday, 22 or 32 passing 259 yards, went over his player prop
05:21for us for touchdowns, one pick.
05:23And that game was really over.
05:24I mean, they went up by three scores and that game was over, man.
05:28Um, but what I like about green Bay, the defense starting to figure some stuff out under Jeff
05:33Halfley, it looks completely different, more press man coverage.
05:37They're getting after the quarterback, but they're also taking away the football right
05:40now.
05:41Total takeaways 17 already this season leads the national football league.
05:45So I feel pretty good about green Bay, not just because they're my team, but you hate
05:48to see an injury for the Detroit lions.
05:51Um, I know Minnesota, um, a lot of people didn't expect this, but I do think that maybe
05:55they come back down to earth like Sam Darnold and that last game against the jets wasn't
05:58very good.
05:59So if you're looking to buy in on a team low, I'd maybe look at the green Bay Packers and
06:02the NFC North.
06:03I think it was a pretty impressive win, even though it was against a stinky Arizona Cardinals
06:06defense.
06:07Yeah.
06:08Look, uh, Romeo Dobbs, uh, you know, return in action, you know, he threw that hissy fit.
06:12Uh, he was saying basically, Hey, to trade me, uh, they, they sat up for a week.
06:16Uh, they, you know, had a come to Jesus moment and what immediately happened, squeaky wheel
06:21got the grease.
06:22He not only scored once, but twice.
06:24And I remember, uh, I, I wagered on him to have five or more touchdowns in the preseason.
06:29So that was great to see a pair of scores for him and being back in the good graces
06:34of Jordan love and the offense and the Fleur and the entire staff.
06:38So, uh, I think that's a major upgrade for this team, uh, Don Tavion wicks got banked
06:42up.
06:43So they're definitely gonna need Romeo Dobbs, uh, depending upon the severity of the injury,
06:47maybe in the short term, but G to Regis continues to work, man.
06:50He scored again.
06:51Uh, ground game is strong.
06:53Like I kind of like green Bay and Jordan love you guys just talk about a bear center riches.
06:59That's the name of the game in green Bay.
07:00When it comes to quarterbacks.
07:01I hate it.
07:02I hate it as a bears fan.
07:03You got your guy.
07:04You got your guy.
07:05Let's talk about our guard.
07:06Oh, a lot of people are saying, well, the bears went out there.
07:21They won 35 to 16 against hello kitties of Jacksonville and I know they're clawless and
07:26they're hairless cats.
07:27Yada, yada, yada.
07:28Uh, but Kayla Williams is dealing.
07:30I don't care.
07:31Painted a story.
07:32He was making some incredible throws that game, short field, intermediate field, way
07:36down the field.
07:37They run the ball effectively with a one, two punch, Deandre Swift and Roshon Johnson.
07:41They played extraordinary defense.
07:43I know the Jacksonville Jaguars are a punchline, but look at the bears overall now in the season
07:48number 20 and EPA per play offense.
07:50And they're improving in that regard, but number three, EPA per play defense of any
07:54team in the NFL, uh, next three coming off the bi-week, uh, at Washington, uh, maybe
08:00a slightly big game there at Arizona.
08:03Really interesting contest as well.
08:04And then new England at home.
08:06I think if they go two in one, they are four, one in one, by the way, the bears are ATS.
08:11The bears are 12 and one right now to win the NFC North.
08:15They go two and one coming off this siesta.
08:18They're very much in the conversation.
08:19So if you're going to fire off a ticket on anybody, take this division, best value on
08:24the board.
08:25Barn on Chicago bears, let's go right.
08:31And still no divisional opponent until week 11, Caleb getting better every week.
08:35The defense.
08:36Um, I mean, coming into the season, I thought that was going to be a top 10 defense, right?
08:39Which is why I get why, um, you know, like the first couple of weeks when they were struggling,
08:44people were calling for the head of Matt Eber flues, but Matt Eber flues is the defensive
08:48minded guy.
08:49The offense is looking better and who knows, man, maybe he's around next year and a couple
08:53more years because Chicago could be a playoff team.
08:56If I was going to place a wager, it would only be on the bears to make the playoffs.
08:59I feel like there's something special with this team.
09:01The tough part is just the division though, the NFC North, I think all those teams are
09:04really good.
09:05Um, but Caleb gets better every week.
09:07He's playing with a ton of confidence and I do like the way the schedule stacks up for
09:10them.
09:11I can't wait to watch that game against the commanders, the rookie of the year.
09:14I mean, it's still early, but there's going to be some odd changes after that one.
09:17So really excited for that upcoming matchup.
09:19Yeah, no doubt.
09:20All right.
