Birmingham ranked as one of UK's top witchcraft hotspots

Birmingham has been named one of the UK's top ten hotspots for witchcraft, according to new insights from Witch Casket. With interest in witchcraft and spiritual practices growing since the pandemic, we hit the streets to find out if people in Birmingham hold any superstitions or paranormal beliefs.

00:08about Vig, so, yeah, I've got experiences with it.

00:15I believe in it. Ghosts, mate, if that's what you're thinking.

00:18Yeah, I do actually believe in it, yeah.

00:21Have you had any paranormal experiences yourself? I have.

00:24Believe it or not.

00:26We was in a flat once down in Worcester,

00:30fit in a kitchen with me mate.

00:33Old lady in there said she was going to bingo.

00:36I'll be back at, like, half past three.

00:39If I'm not back, just let yourself out the door.

00:42Anyway, she weren't back, so I started to take my tools out

00:45down to the van, see a guy sitting on the bed,

00:50dressed in black, that's what I thought, come down,

00:53went back up, thought someone...

00:55And then my friend come down, and he said exactly the same thing,

00:59there's somebody in the flat, really.

01:01Went back up there, there was nobody about.

01:04I do believe in ghosts.

01:06I really am certain I've experienced ghosts

01:10living in my house at one point.

01:13Before we moved in, the guy next door, he unfortunately passed away,

01:17and I really believe that something he left there,

01:20was still in my house, although wherever that ghost has gone now,

01:24I don't know.

01:25A few family members have had some experiences with ghosts as well,

01:28so I believe they're around.

01:30What they are, where they've come from, I don't know.

01:32But, yeah, I do believe there's something there, yeah.

01:36No, I'm not superstitious still.

01:40When I'm at home by myself and I hear something knocking,

01:43I do tend to rather screech a little bit,

01:45thinking it's a ghost or something.

01:46But that's the closest I'd get with it.

01:48But as far as the paranormal beliefs myself,

01:50I don't think I'm that deep into it.

01:52But I've seen some weird stuff, though.
