00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and today we're looking over the most bizarre bosses to emerge from
00:15this epic take on Wukong's legend.
00:23Before we begin, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:28the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:41Initially this floating mammal appears to be another heaven sent beast for Wukong's
00:45successor to overcome.
00:47And it is!
00:48For it's first phase.
00:49After knocking down a health bar, the deer will embrace it's inner bloodborne and start
00:53dishing out crazy damage.
00:55This sudden shift along with the gruesome colour change is enough to make anyone stop
00:59and pause.
01:00Bears not linger for too long though.
01:03This thing is swift and can do some real damage if you let it get it's hooves in you.
01:14Quick as fire, fast as wind.
01:27Just when we thought we had a handle on what types of bosses we'd be encountering along
01:30the way, along came a pair of giant heads to completely throw us for a loop.
01:36Elemental entities may be all too common, but having them take the shape of two snarky
01:40craniums who can bellow out wind and fire all over the arena was certainly an interesting
01:44direction to take.
01:46The only thing crazier being how easily they can be taken out by a monkey with a big stick.
02:01This one is a little different, since it isn't so much the boss as it is the location of
02:06the showdown.
02:07Given the backdrop, fighting a mantis creature was already on our bingo cards.
02:11What wasn't was fighting one inside the bloody belly of our boar bestie, that was
02:16now being sliced up by said mantis.
02:18That's a lot to get our head around, even more so given the pained commentary while
02:23we fight for our lives against the mantis' onslaught.
02:26We don't want to imagine how bad the indigestion was.
02:33The Duskveil
02:41Once upon a time, he was a divine progeny, who sometimes took the form of a giant rooster.
02:47Now he's an undead remnant that brings about a blood moon when you start to whittle down
02:51its health.
02:52Yeah, the Duskveil is the closest thing Black Myth has to an eldritch horror.
02:56With the crimson landscape paired with the black rain and sinister soundtrack, you'll
03:00find yourself questioning if you've slipped into another genre entirely, especially when
03:05it starts letting loose with those demonic projectiles.
03:13Non-White
03:14While we're not explicitly saying that this is Wukong's equivalent to the Joker, there
03:23are certain parallels.
03:24A failed entertainer who found himself turned into a murderous psychopath who happens to
03:29wear the face of a man he killed, and can't stop laughing.
03:32Sure, Non-White may not be as physically monstrous as other creatures fought across the game,
03:37but he certainly succeeded in leaving his mark thanks to a combination of madness and
03:41bloodlust.
03:42It's almost a shame he was wiped out so quickly.
03:50Supreme Inspector
03:52As an emissary for the Celestial Court, this winged warrior makes for one challenging encounter.
04:05Though we can't exactly see it in a heavenly manner given that its face is a giant ominous
04:10red hand.
04:11Pair that with its frequent use of blazing unicycles as attacks, and you have yourself
04:16a battle that is as surreal as it is staggering in difficulty.
04:20Eventually when the court wants something done, they send down the one creature that
04:23can deliver the ultimate cosmic bitchslap.
04:31Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top
04:33Battling against multiple yaoguai at this point in the game had almost become routine.
04:46That being said, this is by far the strangest duo you're likely to encounter.
04:50The creatures themselves may be a basic pair of demonic warriors, but what makes them stand
04:55out is… their mode of transportation.
04:58Each wielding one half of a massive orb, it doesn't take long before the entire battle
05:02becomes a bloody version of spinning teacups.
05:05It may be a prelude to a much grander battle, but it's certainly left an impression.
05:14Feng Tail General
05:25Completely switching mechanics, the reveal of this giant cricket bouncing around the
05:29map was something none of us were prepared for.
05:32While you don't necessarily fight it, you are tasked with enduring its speed and magic.
05:37So long as your stamina and health can outlast it, you win.
05:40Given how well this game excels at rendering the eeriness and grotesqueness of its insectoid
05:45enemies, having to ride around on a colossal one is likely to make your skin crawl.
05:50Just don't look it in the eyes.
05:57Yellow Wind Sage
05:58A giant rat with an inferiority complex, manipulating the wind of the desert armed with a trident,
06:15while casually carrying around the severed head of a Buddha.
06:18That pretty much encapsulates everything wonderful and uncanny about the boss battles across
06:22this game.
06:23Not only is this former prince one of the most demanding in terms of combat, but the
06:28way in which he'll casually whip up tornadoes while hulking around his former master's
06:32head certainly paints quite the confounding image.
06:48Captain Wise Voice
06:55One of four captains dotted around the world in service to their unseen prince, and let's
06:59just say each of them is the furthest thing from human, chief among them being Wise Voice.
07:12Not only was he one of the game's hardest fights during its initial release, but has
07:16a form that's still tricky to get our heads around.
07:18A golden sphere, housed in a frame resembling a misshapen beast, who also comes equipped
07:23with the power to slow down time and bring the thunder.
07:26Whether you consider it a terrible or intriguing fight, its presentation alone is enough to
07:31inspire unease.
07:39Which of Black Myth Wukong's bosses made you stop and stare?
