Blue Eagles clawed Bulldogs  The Ateneo Blue Eagles scored a payback win against the NU Bulldogs, 70-68, to snap their three-game slide in the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on October 13, 2024.  Kristian Porter pumped 14 to lead the Blue Eagles, who improved to 2-6 and dragged the Bulldogs to the same record. 00:00Well, it was enough. It was enough to get us over the finish line, and very, very satisfying.

00:10I know for the players that it's been a tough first half of the season, and they've stuck the gifts.

00:20You've got to give them credit for that because I think I've tried to put a lot of pressure on them.

00:25I know that there's so much we're going to take out of this season, particularly young guys like this.

00:33The pressure is on whether you're getting results or not to get better.

00:39We were better tonight, for sure, and we stuck more to what we were trying to do in the game plan.

00:49Again, I'd like us to have better composure in the fourth quarter. I'd like us to be better decision-makers.

00:58But I think today we displayed the toughness that we might have lacked in other games this year.

01:06It shows that the team is starting to mature.

01:09But if we want to keep winning, that is the hope. We've got to continue to play better basketball than we played today.

01:19But there was enough good basketball out there and not enough bad basketball for us to get over the finish line.

01:28I'm really proud of the team. I'm really proud of their attitude.

01:34It's a big thing today. Nobody will be talking about it, of course.

01:37But we didn't have Josh Rosbro. We didn't have Kyle Long today.

01:41Those 11 or so guys that went out one day, they picked up the slack.

01:49They just did a hell of a job. I'm really proud of them.
