London’s £4.5bn super sewer has opened - Ross Lydall explains

The clean-up of the Thames is under way with London’s new super sewer already stopping hundreds of thousands of tonnes of filthy sewage from spewing into it.The first valves at four of a total of 21 sites, which operate like giant gates, along the seven metre-wide tunnel have opened.
