Israel's recent claims about Hezbollah's military infrastructure near UN peacekeeping posts highlight the increasing tension along the Lebanon-Israel border. Israeli officials noted that these positions have been used to launch attacks, further complicating the role of UN peacekeepers in maintaining stability in the region. This situation has escalated following Hezbollah's drone strikes, which resulted in casualties for the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The ongoing military activities raise serious concerns about the safety of both soldiers and civilians in the area

00:00I'm standing right now in southern Lebanon, near the border with Israel.
00:03We came through an area where the Israelis had punched through the cement border wall.
00:18Right now, if you look behind me over there, you can see a UN installation.
00:23This is where international peacekeepers are meant to stay and prevent Hezbollah from arming in this area.
00:29Right next to me, however, is a very, very deep tunnel dug into rock.
00:35It's connected to a lot of other tunnel shafts around this whole forested area
00:40where the Israeli military says they found weapons, communications equipment, cameras and sensors.
00:45And these tunnels are meant to protect the Hezbollah fighters from Israel's air force.
00:50So they can stay inside these tunnels. There's water inside of them, medical equipment.
00:54Some of them have internet inside of them as well.
00:56They can stay inside these tunnels, be protected from Israel's air force,
01:00and they can mount attacks on Israeli communities,
01:02which, if we look over there, are right down on the other side of this mountain.
01:27I'm now standing in the forest in Lebanon, near the village of Lubuna,
01:31where the Israeli military says they found a Hezbollah position.
01:35They said they found 700 positions just like this.
01:38These are areas where Hezbollah can hide their equipment.
01:42You see battle fatigues, boots, some things for keeping electricity.
01:49The military says that mine could have been used to breach Israel's border wall not too far from here,
01:55and that the Hezbollah fighters would come to this position,
01:58grab these vests, this equipment, and rush towards the border as part of some kind of invasion plan.
02:06Hezbollah has claimed that it hasn't been using the villages in the area as military outposts.
02:14But it's not clear what they said yet about creating these military sites inside the forces.
02:20But the Israelis said these weren't defensive positions, but really these are offensive positions.
