00:00Dame. Notre Dame with a big win over Stanford, but I don't know if that says much. 49-7 being
00:09the beating that it was, but the key thing that I want to zone in on when it comes to
00:13talking about the fighting Irish is going to be Riley Leonard. 229 passing yard performance,
00:18three touchdowns, and a clean slate when it comes to turnovers and interceptions. Why
00:22I'm highlighting this, the dual threat quarterback usually sits around 160 passing yards and
00:27then 50 to 100 rushing yards. Today his rushing yardage only sat at 31, but their ability
00:33to kind of readjust their game, commit to that air attack, says a lot about, I don't
00:37know, the versatility that they can have because their entire running back room didn't really
00:41have any sort of breakout performance. Jeremiah Love being the leading guy there. 53 rushing
00:45yards on the ground, one rushing touchdown. You can always count on a Riley Leonard rushing
00:50touchdown. That's usually where I like to put my money, but what did we see out of the
00:53Irish today that are going to put them in contention for this college football playoff
00:56picture? They look fantastic and they go as far as Riley Leonard can carry them with
01:02those wheels. Efficient quarterback play. You highlighted there, Casey, no interceptions
01:06with the three passing touchdowns. So now we're getting the arm involved in this one
01:10for the smart guys, the Cardinals, Stanford. They showed up, they came ready to play, but
01:15then we didn't see him after the first quarter. The opening drive was fantastic, but I guess
01:20the highlight for me outside of the fantastic and efficient quarterback play through Riley
01:24Leonard was the defense for the fighting Irish. They absolutely stood up, kept the
01:28Cardinals to seven piece there and really didn't give them much of a chance to get down
01:32the field. There was a lot of pressure going towards their quarterback, Ashton Daniels.
01:36He was struggling from the jump. We saw a bit of a mixed bag. They couldn't get their
01:40run game going and playing from behind 22 and a half. The total was 45 in the hook there.
01:46So for Notre Dame to cover that number, this was a very, very impressive victory. And this
01:52is one you can take a lot of confidence from, you know, not given a team like Stanford much
01:56of a chance to get back in this one who's shown a bit of offensive promise early in
02:00the season. So for the fighting Irish to say that they picked up a couple of style points,
02:05I would say yes, 49 to seven emphatic victory out there today.
02:09Yeah. And as you mentioned, and as I've mentioned, just their ability to kind of have this sort
02:13of highlight real performance, even though it's Stanford, it's going to be able to carry
02:17some momentum on. Georgia Tech is not a team that you want to ever compete against and
02:20underestimate their ability to make it a tight game. Then you've got Navy. I know Navy's
02:25usual reputation is their run game. I haven't paid attention to Navy in a few years, but
02:28they can be underlying, exciting to go against as well for a state versus Notre Dame down
02:33the stretch, Virginia Army, and then USC being that closing game on November 30th. So the
02:39fighting Irish have a chance to kind of have a perfect schedule here and continue to prevail
02:43and perform offensively and defensively. Hopefully that can continue to be sound for them.
