Cycling - Tour de Lombardie 2024 - Tadej Pogacar : "48,5 km... It looks far but..."

00:00It feels good, first because I won the Lombardy again with such an amazing effort from the
00:20team.
00:21It was really beautiful to see and also I'm happy because it's off-season.
00:26I mean, it looks far, but the valley was quite long and it's quite fast because it's more
00:35downhill than uphill the last 40 kilometres, so it was not so bad.
00:42When I heard the gap finally, how much is it, I tried to maintain that and in the end
00:47it just got bigger, so I was happy, satisfied.
00:52We did the recon with the guys three days before, we did similar effort like today
00:59and it was all more or less how I imagined in the head.
01:06The team did a super good job and Paul was super strong in the end to basically lead
01:13me out on the steep part of the climb and I tried to make a gap there and it worked.
01:20For sure it was not comfortable to have such a strong breakaway in the front, but it was
01:31keeping the race under pressure, but Jan, Christian and Finn Fischer-Black did an amazing
01:37job keeping the gap steady and then Rafa Majka and Mark Hirschi did also an amazing job on
01:48the Gisalo downhill leading to the climb and that was all up to Adam and Paul to lead
01:55me out and do fast pace and the gap already then was not so huge, so it was actually quite
02:03perfect from the team.
02:05No, I eat more or less all year what I want, so…
02:10What about fries?
02:12Fries are not so great, so no offence, but there's many things that are better than fries,
02:19but I'm looking forward to enjoy the time off, not stressing about intervals and going
02:29on the clock and just being relaxed.
