Robert Greene (born May 14, 1959) is an American author of books on strategy, power, and seduction He has written seven international bestsellers, including The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, The 33 Strategies of War, The 50th Law (with rapper 50 Cent), Mastery, The Laws of Human Nature, and The Daily Laws.

Born in 1959, Robert Greene studied classical studies and worked a variety of jobs, before publishing his first book in 1998. Greene frequently draws on analyses of past historical figures and events throughout his writing. Greene's works have been referenced by a wide variety of celebrities, political figures, and civil rights activists.

00:00The idea is, instead of just acting on your emotions, instead of just acting out of anger,
00:05you step back and you catch yourself and you go through a process. First, you are aware
00:10that you don't know where your anger is from. You've made that decision, you understand it.
00:14You step back and you go, what is it that I'm really, really angry about? And in the moment
00:19that you catch yourself, you stop yourself from doing probably something stupid, saying something
00:24that'll get you in trouble. 80% of the mistakes you make in life come from this fact that you do
00:29things without being aware. You react emotionally when you could have taken that half step back,
00:34thought a little more deeply. So the idea is, awareness, self-awareness is the key to everything
00:42here.
