00:00What do you make of neighbors? And what is he? What's what's he
00:02been like on tape?
00:03He's been a good receiver since he came into the league. He wants
00:07to be like Jamar, sort of kind of like seeing his releases,
00:09man. I went against Jamar multiple times and see the dip
00:13in the shoulder, everything, but just he's a good receiver. Simple
00:16as that.
00:17A player that you're potentially going to face but is dealing
00:20with an injury right now and you don't know, you just assume he's
00:23going to be out there and you look at all the offensive film
00:25with him out there.
00:25Yeah, most definitely. I feel like he's a dog, man. Yeah, he
00:28has a cushion and everything, but he's overcome that. I feel
00:30like he's gonna play, so to be prepared for it.
00:33How do you think you played against the Ravens in that game
00:35that you expected them to really attack you?
00:37I feel like I played good. Yeah, I was like, yeah, I think I
00:41played good.
00:44Did they go at you about as much as you thought? More or less?
00:48Not too much. It was more of a run heavy scheme for us that we
00:51went a lot of, you know, eyes on the quarterback, you know, the
00:54more he extended plays, didn't give me any opportunities, but
00:57every week is different. So you have to be ready.
01:00What was it like seeing DJ kind of come in there when he needed
01:02to and play? How do you feel like he did?
01:05He did great, man. He did amazing. I feel like, you know,
01:07anytime somebody comes out there, they're gonna do good.
01:09We're all in the same meeting room, go through the same
01:11drills and seeing the same stuff. There shouldn't be no
01:14downfall, you know, and everybody knows, you know, DJ
01:16has played in this league before and he's coming to his own.
01:18Obviously, injuries are a part of the game. But when you find
01:21out that Dax is out for the year, what goes through your
01:23mind?
01:24Honestly, yeah, your heart, you know, is down in the drain. You
01:27know, honestly, because I came in with him and everything, but
01:29to see him grow through all that, you know, basically
01:32position change and everything, him coming to his own person, I
01:35found a position that he actually was going to play. It
01:37was detrimental to the team, you know, but at the end of the
01:39day, like I say, it's always next man up. We went through
01:42with Cheeto before and other guys, you know, since I've been
01:44here, but it's always next man up and we got to, you know, go
01:46in.
01:47How did Dax handle that position change? And how'd you see him
01:51grow this year?
01:52You wouldn't even be able to tell, man. He's an athlete,
01:54man. Anywhere you put him on the field, he's going to go do
01:57it, you know, to the best of his ability.
01:59With Dax against the wall in a game like this, what do you
02:02expect to see out of his defense?
02:05Fire. A fire lit, man, honestly, from play one to zero, zero, zero
02:10on the clock. Yeah, that's all I can really say, man. I'm very
02:14excited to go up there.
02:15Is there an aspect that you all want to shut folks up after all
02:17the criticism of the defense last couple weeks?
02:19In the end, the same. We're trying to prove everybody, you
02:22know, wrong at the end of the day, but you know, prove
02:24ourselves right. Bigger than anything. Everybody in this
02:27locker room is all the people that believe in us. So we got to
02:29keep it that way.
02:31What can be done defensively to get this unit back to where you
02:35all feel it can be?
02:36Turnovers. Turnovers. Get the ball back. You know, at the end
02:39of the day, we'll win games, we win the turnover battle, and I
02:42end up with the ball in his hands at the end of the game.
02:44How do you get to that point, though, as a defense?
02:47Play lights out, play with a fire lit on you, fly to the
02:51ball, 11 hats to the ball. You know, communication is great. No
02:55panic when, you know, it's third down, get off the field, you
02:57know, all units working together.
02:59What would you say to the fans of people outside this building
03:01who have been critical of the defense so far?
03:04Man, just watch. That's all I gotta say, man. We're gonna go
03:07to work and just watch.
03:10Mike mentioned tackling. Obviously, tackling has been a
03:12big thing. How do you improve tackling week to week? It's not
03:15like you're doing a ton of tackling in practice.
03:17There's nothing but drills, man. Taking one step closer to the
03:19guy, man, not leaving your feet. Just make sure you wrap
03:22and roll. Like I said, 11 hats to the ball. You don't have to
03:24worry about one person tackling when you got 11 to the ball. So
03:27yeah.
