Aleteia's Caroline Fischer has a special message for women who are experiencing postpartum depression. If you know someone who is experiencing postpartum depression, please share. As always, we encourage anyone experiencing serious mental illness to seek help. As Caroline says in her video -- seeking professional help for postpartum depression or anxiety is a wonderful thing to do. We also encourage you to pray -- and know that we at Aleteia are praying for you!

00:00I think nowadays it's safe to say most of us know how common postpartum depression is.
00:10And whether or not you personally have struggled with it, odds are you probably know somebody
00:14who has.
00:15And thank God we're living in a time where there's less stigma around things like depression,
00:20especially postpartum depression.
00:21Something I've learned from talking to other women is just how important it really is to
00:25get professional help if you're struggling with postpartum depression or postpartum anxiety.
00:30Seeking professional help for mental health reasons is a wonderful, wonderful, brave thing
00:35to do.
00:36And while postpartum depression is a psychological issue, it is really important to remember
00:40to pray.
00:41Because as we all know, prayer cannot harm or hurt.
00:44It can only help.
00:45I have some friends who really sought comfort with Our Lady of Sorrows and turned to her
00:49in prayer.
00:50It's important to continue to pray even through the most difficult situations and the best.
00:55So if you are currently struggling with postpartum depression or anxiety, know that you are
00:58not alone and that we at Aletea are praying for you.
