00:00Look at Pudge's pal this morning, uh, who is here with us and Curtis, we're starting
00:05installment number one of Pudge's Pals in honor of Pudge. Um, and Sue is here from Great Dog
00:13Rescue New England. Sue, good morning. Good morning. We're so excited to be here.
00:19And tell us about Pudge's Pal today. So today we have Nevi. I'm actually going to have Nancy talk
00:26about it, but we are a 501c non-profit shelter. So all of the dogs come down from the South.
00:32And this is Nevia. Nevia. Yes. We call her Nevi. Okay. Heaven backwards. Oh, heaven backwards.
00:40And she is heaven. When I tell you that this dog has just absolutely laid her head down
00:47and is so cuddly and she has the most beautiful eyes. Oh, I love her.
00:53So it looks like you're going to add to the family. Oh my gosh. And what is her,
00:59Sue, if just keep that microphone in front of you, if you can, what is that? What's the breed?
01:04It is a boxer Aussie mix, but we don't really know all the breeds are all mixed.
01:10Okay. And where did Nevia come from? She came from Tennessee. We do a lot with the Tennessee
01:17and Alabama area down South. Roll Tide. Roll Tide. Yes. And she comes up,
01:24every dog goes and gets vaccinated, looked at by doctors. They get chipped, neutered, spayed. So
01:30then when they come up here, we're ready to put them in a forever home with a nice loving family.
01:36Yeah. And what type of home do we think Nevia would do well in? So honestly,
01:42Oh, you got it. Okay. Hold on. Hold on. We got to get everybody. This is Nancy. Nancy,
01:46you have been, get right up close to that microphone. You've been fostering Nevia.
01:50I've been fostering her for a week. I'm also an adoption coordinator with Great Dog Rescue. I'm
01:56not her coordinator. She would fit in any home. She is the most adaptable little girl I've ever
02:03seen. I've got two large dogs. She does great with them. She's good with cats. She's just a
02:08love bug. As long as you want a dog to like sleep on your head and sit on your lap and give you
02:13puppy kisses all day. She's your girl. She's great with kids. So precious. She's great with kids.
02:19You have kids. I don't have kids, but I've got neighbors that come over and they have played
02:24with her and she's really good with kids. All right, Courtney. She was amazing. And she loves
02:29Courtney. On the elevator down, like I usually, any dog that age, new environment, like the
02:35elevator, she was far more chill than James on it yesterday and is unbelievably, like the
02:43temperament is crazy. So chill, right? She hasn't even moved yet. She's just looking around.
02:48Courtney, what you're talking about? That's it. Yeah. I hate it. Like I can't look at, I hate
02:55people. Look at that seven, eight, one texter who doesn't like puppies. Like, yes, go listen to
02:59another radio show. You jackass. Well, X-Pair was in the Twitch wanting a chronological breakdown
03:04of the Bruins game. Well, Nevi watched the Bruins last night. She's a Bruins fan. What do you think
03:11about Drake Mack? She's excited. She'll leave the decision of good, bad, or indifferent to you guys,
03:19but she's excited. Courtney, so what you think? I would hurry up. I am obsessed. You are obsessed,
03:25but you already have Harry. That's all right. But I think Harry would love a sibling.
03:30You can't, I don't think, rule-wise, can Courtney take the first one? I don't know. I mean,
03:35I honestly was going to, no, I think anybody, whoever takes Nev home or Nevia home will be a
03:42winner. It is unbelievable. Mitch, can you zoom in on her face? Because you got to see this face.
03:48She's closing her eyes now. She's ready to take a nap. She's like,
03:51when are we going to get back to sports? Oh, look at her.
03:54Oh my God, she's such a cutie. And how old? She's nine months. I don't think she's going
04:00to get a lot bigger. She's about 28 pounds. She's got something, she's mixed with something tiny,
04:05clearly, but she's got the sort of bulldoggy stance, you know, a little bow-legged, the
04:10underbite. I love the underbite. The underbite is awesome. She came from a hoarding case. There was,
04:16I think, three mother dogs and 19 puppies. No idea which puppy belonged to which mama dog,
04:22but she's just, she could not be sweeter. So our goal and our mission when it comes to Pudge's
04:30Pals is to find forever homes for as many dogs as we can. What is the best way for somebody who
04:39would love to have Nevia in their home go about getting Nevia? Whether it's her or any dog,
04:45go to our website, greatdogrescuenewengland.com, G-D-R-E-N-E.com. I probably said it wrong. And all
04:54of our dogs are listed there and all of their profiles. The first step is to submit an application
04:59for any dog, and then the adoption coordinator will be in touch and the process will start from
05:04there. Our purpose is all about match. We really just want to make the best match for any adopter
05:11with the right puppy. Is it hard to adopt or is it an easy process? You know what,
05:15the process, when you talk about it, sounds like it's long, but it's not. It goes really quickly.
05:20The thing, we are just really careful, and so we do vet people. We call your vet for references if
05:26you have an existing dog. We do a virtual home visit. We want to make sure that there are eyes
05:31on the home that the dogs are going to, make sure that they're a safe home and people are prepared
05:35for the dog. But it's a quick process. Awesome. And we provide as much information as we possibly
05:42can about every dog. All of their health records come with them. Are you getting ready to cry
05:47again? Are you going to cry again? The feeling of this dog just laying on me, and you can feel
05:56like when she keeps trying to fall asleep and she just goes the big, like, harumph,
06:00you know, where she just lets out all of her breath. Oh my gosh. Yeah, she's precious.
06:06I falsified my references with Pudge. I think I can admit that now, but it worked out.
06:10Well, it's pretty cool that this is the same shelter that you got Pudge from.
06:15I am an emotional wreck, but awesome. It's a good-looking dog, too.
06:18It's a very good-looking dog. Can you say the website one more time?
06:22Yes. Because people are asking. G-D-R-E-N-E dot com.
06:28GreatDogRescueGDRNE.com. We have it on the Twitch, and we'll tweet it out.
06:36Okay. All right. And we'll share it on Instagram and all the rest of that stuff.
06:39So many dogs in need of great homes.
06:42Because I know we will, because our audience is, other than that 781
06:45texter who doesn't like this segment, other than that, our audience is extraordinary,
06:49and they are the most generous people in the world. And I know we're going to find a home
06:53for Nevia. And when we do, we want to get an update, and then we'll be able to keep
06:58track of all of the Pudge's pals and how they fit in with their families.
07:02That's fabulous.
07:02Okay.
07:03Thank you guys for doing what you're doing. It really makes a huge difference.
07:06Thank you. Thank you for what you guys do. Awesome.
07:08And Sue, what did you say about Drake May? Are you starting? You got Drake May starting for you?
07:13I am. I have him on two of my fantasies. He's going. I'm putting him up instead of Shad this
07:21week.
07:21All right.
07:21Oh, shine. All right.
07:23Let's go Drake May.
07:24Drake May fan in the house. All right.
