00:02Supermarket giant Aldi has confirmed it is still waiting a decision from Chesterfield Borough Council

00:08on its plan to build a new supermarket in Brimmington.

00:11Speculation that work to redevelop the former Robinson's Caravan site is imminent

00:16had arisen after lights were spotted at the Ringwood Road site.

00:20However, a spokesperson for Aldi said,

00:22Regarding the lights at the site, Aldi are currently keeping the site secure

00:26and monitoring with regular checks while awaiting approval from the Borough Council

00:30before any development work begins.

00:32Aldi submitted a full planning application to the Council in September

00:36setting out its proposal for a modern food store along with more than 100 car parking spaces

00:41as well as electric vehicle charging points.

00:44The UK's fourth largest supermarket chain conducted a consultation amongst local residents and stakeholders

00:50in the run-up to filing its application.

00:52Of the 506 responses, more than 85% said they were supportive of Aldi's proposal in principle.

01:01People in Chesterfield are the keenest in the UK to find love through a TV dating show, according to a new survey.

01:07A table compiled by experts at Casino Revisor

01:10had placed Chesterfield at the top of the towns and cities most desperate for love.

01:14The league was compiled by analysing the average number of monthly Google searches across the UK

01:19for terms relating to reality dating show applications

01:22such as how to apply for Love Island and first dates application.

01:26In Chesterfield, the most searched term is Love Island application

01:30followed by application for first dates and application for naked attraction.

01:34The analysis recorded an average of 54 monthly Google searches per 100,000 people in the town.

01:40This year's Love Island featured a contestant from Chesterfield, Sam Taylor

01:44who unfortunately failed to find his perfect match and left the island a couple of days after he arrived.
