00:00Things have really been stood on their ear for Race 2, the feature race.
00:03For a starter, these Class B runners are finding Thruxton so abrasive,
00:07they're going to have to stop for tyres halfway through,
00:09even though, as you probably know for them, a pit stop is not compulsory.
00:13Now, bear in mind they don't normally make high-speed pit stops,
00:15so that's going to be a bit of mayhem in itself.
00:18And up in the Class 1 division, well,
00:20even the natural order of things here has been upset as well.
00:23Look, in the middle of the field, Anthony Reid,
00:25and alongside him, Ricard Rydell and the second of the forwards.
00:28Remember, in Race 1, they were the boys right up at the front.
00:31And on top of that, the Vauxhalls.
00:33The natural order there has been changed too,
00:35because the fastest Vauxhall runner in Race 1,
00:37remember, Ivan Muller, he was poleman and he won,
00:40well, now he's the slowest of the three Vauxhalls who lock out the front row.
00:44Could go anyway, Waddy.
00:45Thanks, Charlie.
00:46Well, Muller may be the perceived number one driver in the Vauxhall team,
00:49but it was racing Jason Plato who actually got the pole position,
00:53and it was his teammate Vincent Rademacher alongside in the front row.
00:57Muller's joined by Alan Menu in the lead forward,
00:59and also still leading the championship.
01:02The fastest Honda's Tom Christensen,
01:04and the second fastest Ford, Ricard Rydell.
01:06Anthony Reid and Gabriele Tarquini make up Row 4.
01:10Independent Nissen, Matt Neal and David Leslie in Row 5.
01:13Class B Peugeot and Honda, and remember, these cars will be stopping.
01:17James Kay and once again, Colin Blair having another first session.
01:21Rims are up, ready for a start.
01:22Three Vauxhalls in a row, Plato away cleanly.
01:25So is Muller and Rademacher.
01:27Anthony Reid there in the Ford,
01:28making a lunge down the inside into Allard for the first time.
01:31Rademacher and Plato side by side,
01:33and that's one of the Fords off, it's Rydell.
01:35Rydell off in a very big way.
01:38They don't realise that up at the front, they're still racing,
01:40but Rydell has been pumped into the wall.
01:42Surely they're going to have to bring out a safety car,
01:44slow down this race.
01:45There's debris across the track.
01:46Now, Rydell is just being held from the car now.
01:49Good news there, he's okay.
01:51They are still, as I say, racing up ahead.
01:53That's Anthony Reid and Alain Meunier side by side.
01:56Meunier just sliding through there ahead of Reid.
01:58Any minute now, they must be pulled up
02:00because that is right across the track into Allard.
02:02There's no question the safety car will have to come out.
02:05Too much debris in the track.
02:06The tyre barriers also, they've been damaged.
02:08They'll have to be put back into place.
02:10The safety car will be out at the end of this lap.
02:13Fellows in the Ford pit trying to work out what's going on.
02:15They've obviously, they can see actually
02:17from where they are in the pit lane, that first corner.
02:19So they'll know what's going on.
02:20There's the word slow down, slow down.
02:22We're coming up now into that very first corner
02:25after the start where the accident is off to the left.
02:27There you see it.
02:30Very heavy impact.
02:31What a big damage to the back of that Ford.
02:33Well, let's have a look again and see.
02:34We're on board with Tarquini.
02:35You've got Reid on the right.
02:37Christensen in the middle.
02:38Rydell on the outside.
02:39And literally the two Fords.
02:41Constantino of the Honda, which in turn
02:43bumps Rydell off to the left.
02:45That was a big impact.
02:46Front damage, not so bad.
02:48What you don't see is the back of the car.
02:49It is destroyed.
02:52Good to see he looks OK.
02:54Just giving a debrief to his team about what
02:56happened, who hit me.
02:57The cars, meantime, are about to take a restart.
02:59This is a rolling start now through the chicane.
03:01And away they go.
03:02And look at the lead that Plato's got.
03:04The green flag is waving, meaning they can race.
03:07And they are indeed.
03:09Plato first, Rademacher second, Muller third.
03:11It's Vauxhall's just streaking away.
03:15Over the back of the complex now.
03:17That's Tarquini and Christensen.
03:19Tarquini ahead and the first of those Hondas.
03:21Then Christensen, then McNeil in the independent Nissan.
03:26There's Rademacher, Muller, Menuh, Reed, Tarquini,
03:31Christensen, all sliding through the complex.
03:33And now onto the back of the circuit.
03:34They'll have cool tires.
03:35Again, they didn't get a lot of heat in there, Ronnie.
03:37No, there were three laps behind the safety car.
03:39And that's always very worrying when you have a restart.
03:41Everybody's on it immediately.
03:43But they don't always have the grip.
03:44These boys are on it as well.
03:45That's Morrison and Lemmer in the two leading class B cars
03:48on board with Lemmer.
03:49There's Morrison.
03:50Side by side, almost chipping each other.
03:53That was very, very close.
03:55Getting very friendly through Noble, but a good pass.
03:57Yes, but it really tells you the story about class B.
04:00Right now, Peugeot have got an advantage in weight,
04:02but they've certainly got an advantage with the power.
04:04Waddy, another Manners attack.
04:05That was Muller sliding around the outside of Rademacher
04:08into the complex.
04:09Muller let through.
04:10Yep, you'll see the left-hand indicator going.
04:13That's the indication from Rademacher to say,
04:15I'm going to stay on the left, pass me on the right.
04:18On board with Anthony Reed just passing that spot
04:20where Rydell had his start line accident.
04:23Down into the complex.
04:27All the way down through the gearbox into second.
04:29Menu ahead of us.
04:31Now, here are our lead Vauxhalls.
04:32This is Rademacher.
04:33He's now the third Vauxhall
04:35because he's just let Muller through.
04:36Big question is, what's Jason Plato going to do?
04:38Jason Plato is the lead Vauxhall.
04:40In fact, he's the race leader.
04:41There he is.
04:42Now, Jason Plato really took advantage of that restart.
04:45Almost to the extent you might say,
04:47well, did Rademacher go slowly to give Plato some advantage?
04:50I'm the cynic.
04:51And I have to say, I have to be proved wrong yet.
04:53Well, I'll tell you what, it is some advantage too.
04:55You can see the gap that he had over the rest of the field.
05:01Menu and Reed still very much in touch with each other.
05:03They are in fourth and fifth positions
05:04behind the first three Vauxhalls.
05:06Down into Church.
05:07The car going so quickly through there.
05:09Top gear through Church corner.
05:11You can just about see at the top of the steering wheel
05:13a little readout which says 225 kilometers per hour.
05:17And in my language, that's as near to 140 miles an hour
05:20as you're going to get.
05:21Lovely cornering speed, that.
05:23Across the start finish line again.
05:27Menu starting to catch up onto the tail of Rademacher.
05:30He's now in fourth.
05:31He's now in fourth.
05:32He's now in fourth.
05:33He's now in fourth.
05:34He's now in fourth.
05:34He's now in fourth.
05:35He's now in fourth.
05:36He's now in fourth.
05:37And Reed still very much in touch.
05:46And in the complex now.
05:49Plato, meantime, coming up onto the first of the Class B runners.
05:52He's just passing K in the Honda Accord, the Class B Honda Accord.
05:56Gets through very smoothly, no problem there.
05:59Now we're on board with Alain Menu in his office,
06:01heading out onto the back of the circuit.
06:03Let's just watch the boy at work.
06:07Top gear.
06:26That cornering speed is terrifying, John Watson.
06:28It certainly is.
06:29But I'm just beginning to wonder,
06:30is it more a case of Rademacher dropping back into the arms of Menu
06:34than Menu actually catching up Rademacher?
06:36Is he Vauxhall's fifth columnist this weekend?
06:40Tom Christensen now in the Honda,
06:42locking up a rear tyre coming into the complex
06:45and using all of the kerbs as well.
06:47All very well to muscle those kerbs,
06:49but you've got to watch for tyre wear.
06:50Well, he doesn't have to watch anymore because he's pitting.
06:52Here's our first pitter for the afternoon.
06:54Let's have a look at Honda,
06:55see if they've learned anything from Donington.
06:57Remember I pointed out,
06:58high, high, the car goes up in the front.
07:00Well, what they've done,
07:01they've decided to change left side only.
07:03All four jacks in operation.
07:05Not everybody will go left side.
07:07Didn't look as though that car came up as high either, Waddy.
07:11Might have been listening to you, Jason Plato.
07:13He's our race leader,
07:14still got a very, very handy gap.
07:16And the car looks so good.
07:17Plato really, really uncomfortable,
07:19really enjoying his afternoon here at Throxton.
07:22Clear air, just focusing on the chequered flag.
07:24Clear air, except at the back of his car
07:26when he has that little bit of a lift.
07:28Really, really running a fuelly car, aren't they?
07:30I think he stopped off and got some of that city diesel fuel in that Vauxhall.
07:34Every time he has a little bit of a lift,
07:35a big belt of smoke.
07:36You can see it there.
07:37Half tyre, half engine smoke.
07:39It's in the Vauxhall.
07:45Reid and Menuh are starting to get closer to each other now.
07:48This Ford battle is starting to really hot up.
07:50Anthony Reid has shown us in the past,
07:51he's not backwards when it comes to trying to get past one of his teammates.
07:55Saw him swap a bit of paint with Ricard Rydell
07:57in the last round of the championship.
07:58So I'm sure he won't be beyond muscling his way past Alain Menuh
08:02if he can get within striking distance.
08:04And that looks as though that's what he's working on.
08:05I'm just again watching Reid as he came through Goodwood Corner.
08:08He appears to have his car set up in a way
08:10which is making the car do the work, not the driver.
08:13And again through Church,
08:14see if he can catch up to Menuh in the run-up to the chicane.
08:20He definitely looks less busy at the wheel
08:22through the back part of that circuit.
08:28Alain Menuh obviously is feeling pressure there
08:30because he's really using all of the kerbs trying to haul him off.
08:33Now it's pit stop time. This is Reid pulling in.
08:36A very late cut indeed from Anthony Reid
08:38and just about manages to stop
08:40before he runs into the man at the front of the car.
08:42Reid and Muller in the pits.
08:44Muller 6.36, 7.52 for Anthony Reid.
08:47So disappointing for the Ford team, just over a second slower.
08:51That will not do Anthony Reid's campaign to catch Alain Menuh any good whatsoever,
08:55nor will it do Muller's campaign any good to try to catch the lead
08:57because it was a much slower stop.
08:59Leslie meantime.
09:00Again, David Leslie in the Honda for the first time this year.
09:03Oh, jacked up at the front, front tyres changed.
09:07Vincent Rademacher now inherits the lead.
09:09He'll be well pleased with that
09:10given the number of people that have been passing him this afternoon.
09:14Obviously going to be the last Vauxhall to pit.
09:18Mark Lemmer now, Class B runner in 12th position, he's in.
09:22Also very important from Rademacher's point of view
09:24is to stay out as long as possible
09:26to pick up that final point for leading a race.
09:29Those points at the end of the year count.
09:31First Class B car, and this is the problem that we're talking about.
09:33They've got actually air guns,
09:35but they've got to take those four nuts off individually.
09:38A much slower stop for them, but they must change tyres here.
09:40This circuit is so fast and so abrasive, even with the Class B runners,
09:44they can't assume that they can get through the race
09:46without literally destroying their tyres.
09:49Now, who are we waiting for?
09:51Must be this guy, Alain Menuh.
09:53Right under the very edge as he comes out of Church Corner.
09:56Very ragged edge indeed.
09:57Complete commitment from Menuh.
10:02All the way.
10:04Well, here is the man in question, Alain Menuh.
10:06Will he come back and pit next time?
10:08Now, there's our lead Class B runner, Alan Morrison.
10:12We saw him slide past Lemmer a little bit earlier.
10:16Also pitting.
10:18Rademacher, he is our outright race leader.
10:23Second place man, Alain Menuh.
10:25And you can just see Rademacher off in the distance.
10:28Oh, he loses all of that circuit, Tom.
10:30It's scary when you get so far right.
10:32140 miles an hour through Church Corner,
10:34using the Roddenbolt Strip and the grass to keep the car in control.
10:40Very spectacular line being taken by Rademacher.
10:43Lap after lap, he uses all of the curve he feels like.
10:45And he's pulling into the pits now.
10:47Menuh probably.
10:48Yeah, him as well.
10:49This is going to be very, very busy.
10:52Ford versus Vauxhall.
10:54Ford up first.
10:55They have their pits at the beginning of the pit lane.
10:57Rademacher's at the very end.
10:59Menuh down 5.44 seconds.
11:01Rademacher's down in 5.24.
11:03So Rademacher retains the advantage over Menuh.
11:09Nose to tail, they leave.
11:12There's Tarquini in the pits.
11:14And there's got to be a problem.
11:16I mean, you can measure this pit stop with a calendar, not a stopwatch.
11:20Yeah, look, you can see even the boom that holds the airlines.
11:23It's damaged.
11:24Something's happened to Tarquini.
11:26He came into the pits, but something just seems to have gone so wrong for the Italian team.
11:30Well, here's your answer.
11:31And there you can see the team did not expect Tarquini in a miscommunication.
11:36But also, he drives over one of the airlines that's trapped under the car.
11:39So they're trying to get the car up, get the wheels off.
11:42Disaster.
11:42Matt Blaisdottir out the pit lane.
11:44You're going to have to swerve in behind him somehow.
11:48Well, Matt Neal being warned of a traffic jam in the pit lane.
11:51He's going to make his pit now.
11:52He's getting ready to do it.
11:53This is the last chicane before the pit entrance.
11:55But he knows he's got to negotiate past one of the other cars in the pits as well.
12:01There's Blair coming in behind us.
12:04Two independent holders in.
12:05In fact, they've got consecutive pits, so they're cut in.
12:09Well, Matt Neal, we look at the time.
12:124.6 seconds.
12:14Well, Matt Neal, we look at the time.
12:164.60 seconds.
12:18Donald Blair, a lot longer.
12:20Great stop from the independent team.
12:22Matt and Steve Neal.
12:24Donald Blair goes out at a slightly more leisurely pace.
12:26An 11.2 seconds.
12:27Not the circuit to give away time like that.
12:30Rademacher is trying to fend off Alain Menu.
12:33Remember, they came back out of the pits together.
12:35The Vauxhall driver just ahead of the Ford Pilot.
12:37And he's still holding him off.
12:38Now we're on board with Matt Neal, the independent Nissan.
12:41We must be, because we're looking back and there's a Honda chasing us.
12:44This happens to Matt Neal lap after lap.
12:46Out onto the back of the circuit, and he's really coming under pressure.
12:50In fact, he's coming under more than just pressure.
12:52Leslie slid on the inside.
12:53Remember, Matt Neal has just come out after a pit stop.
12:55Side by side.
12:56Church Corner is next.
12:57This is very fast.
12:59Leslie slides through on the inside.
13:01He's off!
13:02Leslie spun.
13:03Neal's off with him.
13:04They're going over 100 miles an hour through there.
13:06Amazingly, no major contact.
13:09That was a huge moment.
13:10Leslie made the pass, but it all went wrong at the apex.
13:12I've been knocked off at Church by Leslie.
13:16He's right in front of me.
13:18I'm okay.
13:19I'm back on the track.
13:20But my rads are going to grow up.
13:22I'm going to need...
13:24Oh, something else happened.
13:27What else happened?
13:29I think I've got a twist or something.
13:32Probably got the car going now.
13:35That's the voice of a man with a heartbeat of over 200 a minute.
13:39Matt Neal trying to regroup as he limps back towards the pits.
13:43There he is now.
13:44Look at the front of that car.
13:46Yeah, that's pretty much the end of the day for Matt Neal.
13:48The whole front bumper is spoilt.
13:51Take a nod.
13:55Knock it on the edge.
13:57Forget it.
13:57Your splitter's gone, man.
13:59The whole lot's gone.
14:00Turn it off.
14:02Matt Neal coming in to empty the grass catcher
14:04and see if they can do anything with that front splitter.
14:06And of course, the other man involved in this,
14:08David Leslie, in as well.
14:09Leslie dived down my inside into church.
14:14He lost it.
14:14And at the back end, I was right up his bumper,
14:17and as his rear came out,
14:19he took his foot off the brakes
14:21and went backwards off the circuit
14:22and just took me with him.
14:24I went down the inside of Matt into church
14:26and he went round church,
14:27got too much oversteer and started to spin.
14:29In the middle of the spin, Matt run into me.
14:31I was already like 90 degrees to the circuit by that point.
14:34Very lucid explanation from both drivers
14:36and obviously no complaints from either of them
14:39in terms of their account of the event.
14:42Just a mistake that Matt was caught up in.
14:44Yes, David has done the pass,
14:45but he was just on the wrong part of the track in the entry.
14:48He had to lift off.
14:49Matt tagged the back of the Honda,
14:50but that happened after the Honda was out of control
14:53and the inevitability.
14:54Both cars off in the grass.
14:55Matt Neal's out of the race.
14:56David Leslie will here be the walking wounded
14:58for this feature race.
15:00Terribly lucky not to hit anything hard down there.
15:02What he's doing well over 100 into there.
15:04Penalty, Gabriele. Penalty.
15:10And that's not a new Italian dish.
15:11That means come into the pits, I believe.
15:13Yeah, more than you actually had planned to.
15:15A drive-through penalty for Gabriele Tarquini
15:17for running over somebody's equipment in the pit lane.
15:20Not a good afternoon for Honda.
15:22No, disappointing indeed.
15:23And Tarquini, who looked to be very strong in the sprint race,
15:26all went wrong at that pit stop.
15:28This bloke looks pretty strong though, Ivan Mulloch.
15:31And he's closing in on his teammate.
15:32He's more than closing in.
15:34That's Jason Plato, the race leader.
15:35His teammate and his left-hand indicator is on,
15:38and we know what that means.
15:39I think it must be a faulty indicator switch
15:41that has not put a racing, in my view,
15:43in the spot where Jason Plato would ordinarily expect to do.
15:46And he gets an acknowledgement.
15:47It's a bit like a couple of truck drivers down the M1.
15:5010-4, good buddy.
15:51Thanks a lot. I owe you a beer.
15:52Jason Plato moving to one side.
15:54And plainly, team orders working all the way through
15:58for the Vauxhall team.
16:00With Ivan Mulloch, the beneficiary.
16:02Jason Plato was let past Rademacher,
16:04so we can obviously assume from that,
16:05he is the third man in the pecking order.
16:08Tarquini, another visit to the pits.
16:12And this is just the drive-through
16:13for running over the airline
16:14when he came in for his pit stop.
16:16So a penalty.
16:17And that'll add something about 25 seconds
16:19to his race distance.
16:25Concentration for Tarquini.
16:26Now we're on board with another spinner.
16:28That's Rademacher.
16:29Pirouettes!
16:31I'm getting busy, but I think we're at Church Corner.
16:34Well, I don't think it's Darcy Bussell
16:35grabbing the Vauxhall it is.
16:36Actually, Vincent Rademacher.
16:37Explore the tyre, mate.
16:39Explore the tyre.
16:42OK, Vince, thanks.
16:43No, I'm OK.
16:45Do you hear that? Tyre's gone.
16:48Terrible luck for Rademacher.
16:50A little bit of luck he hasn't come into contact
16:51with anything solid in that spin,
16:53but we knew tyre wear was an issue
16:55and he's obviously fallen foul.
16:56And it's all happening down at Church Corner,
16:58the quickest corner on the circuit.
17:01Once you leave the circuit,
17:02so much grass right up to the edge of it,
17:03you just slide forever.
17:07Here are our race leaders.
17:10Muller coming up behind James Kay
17:12in the Independent Class B Honda.
17:14Jason Plato right behind him.
17:16Jason Plato obviously wanting to demonstrate
17:18that although he's let Muller past,
17:19Muller is much quicker than him.
17:21He's got his headlights ablaze
17:22and he's staying very much in touch.
17:24Plato, having had pole lead from pole,
17:27having been forced back into second place,
17:29has been the quickest of the three Vauxhall drivers
17:31here in the feature race.
17:34Muller and Plato.
17:36Nose to tail down through Church Corner.
17:38A little bit of a puff of smoke there from the Vauxhall.
17:40As Plato has a small lift.
17:43Not wanting to get too close.
17:44And there's another car off.
17:45That's Tom Christensen.
17:46This isn't motor racing, it's grass skiing.
17:49Yet another car going off-piste.
17:52Trying to work his way back onto the circuit.
17:54I don't know if he's got a blowout as well
17:56or just lost it.
17:58It certainly looks to me
17:58like the left front may be deflated.
18:01Again, out of Church Corner.
18:02And if it is, that's Christensen's second
18:04tyre failure of the afternoon.
18:06A message there to Muller, though, from the pits.
18:08Back off a little bit, boys.
18:09We've just had one car go off with tyre problems.
18:12Let's take it easy.
18:13That's not going to please Jason, I guess,
18:15with Ford's looming behind them.
18:17No, it will not, because it means
18:18it's going to bring Ford into contention
18:20with Plato's second place.
18:21But there it is, confirmation.
18:22Left front for Tom Christensen.
18:24It's really like running these tyres
18:26under an angle grinder as they go around
18:28on the very long constant radius
18:30corners into the pits.
18:32Hits the wheel, man.
18:34But he's all right.
18:36Christensen's not able to pull up
18:37quickly enough with that blown tyre.
18:39Not at all.
18:39You could see that he really only
18:40had one front brake working.
18:42He was just skidding with the left front.
18:43They're going to put another one on.
18:45Well, let's hope that the man on the front
18:46of the car isn't injured in any way whatsoever.
18:49The impact really was very slow.
18:50And that bottle, the air bottle,
18:52took most of the impact.
18:53But nonetheless, let's hope the man
18:55with the air gun is in good shape.
18:59This guy's in good shape.
19:00Plato, he's in second position.
19:01This man is not in good shape.
19:03James Kay, rotten luck for him.
19:04He was running a really clever strategy
19:06of taking it easy on his car,
19:07trying to avoid a pit stop.
19:10But he's obviously got a bigger problem than that.
19:12Yes, that looks a terminal engine problem,
19:14but clever strategy, a gamble.
19:16That really saw Kay comfortably
19:17in the lead of Class B.
19:20Tom Christensen, a disappointment.
19:22He's out of the race.
19:24That's two Hondas down.
19:28And Tarquini's had a drive-through.
19:30Alan Morrison's having a happy afternoon.
19:32Leading Class B, such a powerful runner.
19:35And Alan Morrison, one of the future major stars
19:38in British touring car racing.
19:41Well, there's our injured wheel man.
19:43Tom Christensen's saying, terribly sorry, mate.
19:44Didn't mean to run over you.
19:49Alan Menu trying to close up
19:51onto the back of those Vauxhalls.
19:52The Vauxhall's really the class of the field this afternoon.
19:55But Alan Menu is making the most of it in this Ford.
19:58Look at him working.
19:59Yeah, he's really, really sawing at the steering wheel
20:01as he came through Noble into Goodwood.
20:03Now the run down into Church, into sixth gear.
20:08Time's running out.
20:10Running out indeed.
20:11In fact, the pit crew are running out.
20:12They're running out to the pit wall to congratulate them
20:14because for Vauxhall, this is really their day.
20:18One, two.
20:18Muller, Plato, who let Muller through right behind him.
20:22You can complain about team orders.
20:23You can complain that Muller perhaps was gifted this win,
20:25but you cannot criticise Vauxhall
20:27for the performance of these cars.
20:29Vauxhall, absolutely dominant this afternoon.
20:33Muller and Plato, one, two.
20:36Well done, guys.
20:37Well done.
20:40Well done, guys.
20:41Well done to everybody.
20:42Thanks very much to Jason and the platform.
20:45Well done.
20:47Great job, man.
20:48Great job.
20:52But at the front, it's Vauxhall's day.
20:54Ivan Muller, Jason Plato, one, two.
20:57Alain Meunier and Anthony Reid.
20:58Strong drive from them in three and four.
21:00Meunier really made the Vauxhall guys work.
21:02Gabriele Tarquini, a drive-through penalty
21:05and still scrapes a top five finish.
21:07Well done, Gabriele.
21:08And if you ever doubted that Thruxton Circuit
21:10wasn't a car killer, have a look at this.
21:12Only two more finishers.
21:14Blair in sixth position in the independent Nissan
21:16and Morrison seventh.
21:18Jason was ahead of you for a long time.
21:20How did you ultimately catch him?
21:22Because he slowed down a bit his speed
21:23and he let me pass because I was like this.
21:27Is it team orders or...?
21:29Probably.
21:31That's the tactic for the year?
21:33You know, when you fight with one team like Ford or Honda,
21:37you have to work all together.
21:39And it's what's happened.
21:41I feel very happy about this, of course,
21:44because that's when the team are very close together.
21:47I think it's the best strategy.
21:50We're a team.
21:51We're here to win the championship for Vauxhall
21:54and that's our priority
21:55and that's the only thing we're here to do.
21:58Jason did a fantastic job out there.
22:00But at the end of the day, we're here to win the championship
22:03and it's important to finish one and two.
22:05Of course, we all want to win races.
22:06They're hard enough to win, let alone having to give them away.
22:10But, you know, Evan's not happy about the situation
22:13or, you know, he doesn't like to win races that way.
22:15But, you know, I just got to keep his fingers crossed.
22:18One day, it'll be my turn.
22:20But six races in, that's a bit early for team orders, isn't it?
22:26Well, we're having this conversation in the last race, you mean?
22:29It's never too early.
22:30We need points in the bag.
22:31We want to win the championship for Vauxhall
22:33and we're starting now.
22:35Those team orders push Muller into second in the overall points,
22:38just six behind Ford's Al Amenu.
22:41But Jason Plato, an equal third, just three points off his teammate,
22:45must be thinking, what if?
22:47He shared the spot with Anthony Reid,
22:48who leaps ahead of his teammate, Ricard Rydell.
22:51Gabriele Tarquini's the best Honda man,
22:53with Vincent Rademacher seventh and Tom Christensen in eighth.
22:57The battle for ninth and tenth is also the battle
22:59for the Michelin Cup for Independence.
23:01Colin Blair just edging Matt Neil.
23:06Vauxhall's domination of the top step of the podium
23:09has tightened up the battle for the Manufacturer's title.
23:12Ford still leads by 36 points,
23:14but Vauxhall's certainly not out of it yet,
23:16as for Honda, well, over 100 points down on Ford.
23:19It's back to the drawing board.
23:23Alan Morrison's Class B double
23:25has propelled him and Peugeot back into the points feed.
23:28The unlucky James Kaye lies in second,
23:31with his Honda teammate, Mark Lemmer, completing the top three.
23:34Mark Lemmer missed out on valuable points today.
23:36He was disqualified from the results of Race 2.
23:39He passed under yellow flags
23:41during the Ricard Rydell incident in Allard Corner.
23:44OK, just time to waste a few bottles of fine champagne
23:49on some poor unsuspecting soul
23:51before heading north of the border to Knock Hill.
23:54So, who'll be...
