00:00In an interview with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in the ASEAN Summit,
00:04President Bongbong Marcos highlighted China's harassment of Filipinos in the West Philippine Sea.
00:11In an interview with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the President mentioned the harassment,
00:16water bombings, deliberate bombing of Philippine Coast Guard ships,
00:21laser firing, and even bullying of BIFAR ships and airplanes.
00:27The President said that China continues to harass and threaten the Philippines.
00:32He pointed out that China disregards international laws
00:36such as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea or UNCLOS,
00:40as well as the Convention on the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea or Coal Regs.
00:46The President said that the negotiation for the ASEAN-China Code of Conduct,
00:51which was approved in 1992, has not yet been completed.
00:57In the leaders' retreat last Wednesday,
00:59the President called on his fellow ASEAN leaders
01:02not to get involved in China's aggressive activities in the South China Sea.
01:07It is clear that ASEAN's intention is to face its members together.
01:12The message is based on a copy of the interview obtained by NHK, a Japanese media outlet.
01:18The President spoke about the discussions in the leaders' retreat because it is a closed session.
01:24The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that it is ready to resolve any disagreements
