Kleiderly have produced the world's first eyewear collection, security tags and clothing hangers made from recycled textiles.

00:00Every second, a truck full of textiles goes to landfills and incinerators.

00:11There's no wonder that the fashion industry produces more CO2 emissions than the aviation

00:16and shipping industry combined.

00:18This amounts to 10% of the global CO2 emissions.

00:37We've produced the world's first eyewear collection, security tags and clothing hangers

00:41made from recycled textiles.

00:44At Clydeley, we've developed an award-winning, patent-pending solution to recycle textile

00:50waste into a plastic alternative.

00:53And by doing this, we solve two environmental problems at once.

00:56The clothing waste problem and also the plastics derived from crude oil.

01:01The final product are plastic pellets, which can be used in standard injection molding

01:08and extrusion molding machinery.

01:12We can save up to 7,500 tonnes of carbon equivalent every single year.

01:17That's equivalent to driving a car 936 times around the world, burning 14,000 barrels of

01:24oil or 8,000 passengers flying from London to New York and back.

01:38We are at the beginning of this movement towards a circular economy.
