00:00Now is Senator Eric Schmidt of Missouri. Senator, we've been covering this storm surge in Florida,
00:07devastating damage, obviously still haven't been able to clean up fully from the hurricane of just
00:12a few weeks ago, Hurricane Helene. Your reaction to what seems to be this preemptive attempt
00:18by Biden and Harris and the media to silence critics of any aspect of the government's
00:25response by calling it all disinformation? Yeah, thanks, Laura. Yeah, first, first,
00:31let me just say that the folks in Missouri and all across the country are praying for
00:35Floridians and folks in the Southeast who've already suffered so much already, and they've
00:40got another one coming here. So we're with you. But yeah, this is a kind of a standard playbook
00:45now, Laura, for anything they don't like to hear. They label it misinformation or disinformation.
00:50They've tried to censor this stuff before during COVID because they didn't like it wasn't the
00:54regime's narrative. And here we go again. There are real stories. There are people hurting. We're
00:58not getting help. In fact, you know, relief efforts by private citizens were being blocked.
01:03So FEMA has, you know, completely the federal government's response here led by Joe Biden and
01:08Kamala Harris have completely failed the people of North Carolina. And they can do better because
01:13when people get frustrated about you alluded to this, there's all the money in the world for
01:16Ukraine and Lebanon and the tone deafness of announcing the $180 million for Lebanon a week
01:22ago when people in North Carolina were suffering is emblematic, I think, of how out of touch
01:28Kamala Harris really is with the situation on the ground. Now you see her trying to insert herself
01:32in these phone calls. It's really awkward. So anyway, we're hoping and praying for the folks
01:38in Florida. They deserve a better response. The folks in North Carolina have. But to just
01:42dismiss criticism and calling misinformation is a joke. Yeah. Well, you saw Governor DeSantis,
01:47who's just masterful in dealing with these types of hurricanes. He even in a terrible situation,
01:56it's reassuring to people to see someone who knows what the heck they're doing.
02:00At the same time, you know, they want to be taken seriously in the federal level and want
02:05reputation rehab on the on the hurricane management. We had Kamala Harris do this
02:11kind of softball media tour, drinking beer with Colbert again, as all these challenges are facing
02:18the country. I mean, it's fine to do a little kitschy thing, you know, that's fine, I guess. But
02:25not if you want to be taken seriously when a lot of voters don't take her seriously or her
02:30experience, your reaction to that. Well, it's it's painful to watch. It's excruciating. It's like some
02:36sort of AI generated robot, you know, with an algorithm of gibberish. It just doesn't make
02:41any sense. So they hit her for a long time. They can't hide her anymore. The American people deserve
02:45more. But when she's given these softball questions, Laura, she blows it. She can't list one
02:50thing that she do different than Joe Biden. And that's that's an indictment. It's crazy.
02:54Multiple times. We didn't get to interview at Butler, but Senator, it was great to see you
02:59there for that historic day. We'll have you back soon. Thank you very much. We're going to go back
03:04live on the ground in Florida as.
