U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has condemned the spreading of misinformation about the administration's response to Hurricane Helene as another deadly storm bears down on Florida.
Transcript
00:00Less than a month before the U.S. presidential election, both candidates are accusing one
00:05another of mishandling their responses to recent hurricanes.
00:10The other point I'd make is that there's a lot of misinformation being pushed out there
00:15by the former president about what is available in particular to the survivors of the lean.
00:22And first of all, it's extraordinarily irresponsible.
00:25It's about him.
00:26It's not about you.
00:28And the reality is that FEMA has so many resources that are available to folks who
00:34desperately need them.
00:37Hurricane Helene destroyed homes and killed hundreds of people when it hit the southeastern
00:42U.S. in late September.
00:44And as another hurricane barrels toward Florida, former President Donald Trump has falsely
00:49accused the Biden administration of using disaster relief aid for migrant programs instead.
00:55Biden has called the spreading of false information about the hurricanes un-American.
