00:00World Mental Health Day takes place each year on October the 10th. It's Thursday
00:05this year and for 2024 the theme is mental health in the workplace. When you
00:11think about it we spend almost, well most of our lives at work or working from
00:17home, whatever your job is. Actually having good mental health at work not
00:22only is helpful for productivity but your own sanity, your own well-being and
00:28your entire life. 15% of UK workers are estimated to have a mental health
00:35condition. As we know one in four people have a mental health condition and
00:42875,000 workers are suffering from work-related stress, depression and
00:48anxiety and those were figures from 2022 to 2023. It's also the fifth most common
00:55reason for sickness absence in 2022 was mental health. So World Mental Health
01:02Foundation are encouraging people to talk about it, have a tea and talk, set up
01:07an awareness campaign or provide training in your workplace, ideally
01:12everything. For more information head to the Mental Health Foundation's website to
01:18find out more about their campaigns as well as ways to get support.
