00:07and the billiards became a big thing in the country.

00:11Especially the increase of female players.

00:15This is what Bernadette Pinoy has to say.

00:19Chia Navarro was 6 years old when her father taught her how to play billiards.

00:24She started playing in different billiards tournaments at the age of 14

00:29and was awarded a medal in the last national tournament at the age of 17.

00:33She said that playing billiards helped her a lot in her mind conditioning and decision making.

00:39It's very unique for me,

00:41the underrated sports of billiards.

00:43It's like a mix of chess, piano,

00:47and what you need,

00:49do you call it the maestro of the hands?

00:52For you to have an accurate shot.

00:56At a young age, she started playing billiards in Queen Legazpi

00:59and many female billiard players joined her in tournaments.

01:04Because of her passion for sports,

01:06Queen won the championship after the Amit Cup Season 2 Grand Finals.

01:11I was so happy that time.

01:13Since I haven't won any league yet,

01:16and since January 10, the Grand Finals,

01:19I was still a student.

01:21Chia Queen was one of the hundreds who joined the Amit Cup Season 3 Leg 2 Grand Finals.

01:27According to Ren Devera, billiards has already made a lot of progress in the country,

01:31even among the female queue stars who are showing off on the international stage.

01:37The perception of billiards now is more of a sport,

01:40and not a vice,

01:42it's not necessarily bad things.

01:44And also the perception of women playing billiards now

01:49is not frowned upon like before.

01:51So there's a lot more respect in the pool rooms now.

01:54So I think that's why it's more fun to play billiards.
