00:00I went to the Greater Manchester Pub of the Year 2024.
00:04The Northumberland Arms is a completely community-owned pub in Marple Bridge, Stockport.
00:12Originally built in 1824, 200 years ago, by the Duke of Norfolk,
00:17the Thumb has been a community pub since 2017, after Robinson's Brewery retired its tenor.
00:25The establishment has been a key part of the community,
00:29often hosting events and raising funds for charity.
00:35The pride of the pub is its beautiful beer garden,
00:38which is found at the back of the pub, next to the bar.
00:44As well as good pints, the pub offers darts and pool,
00:48perfect for when you're waiting for the game to come on.
00:52The snug rooms are filled with traditional pub decor,
00:56which creates the best atmosphere for the perfect pint.
