00:14Let's get into it indeed on a big night of boxing here in Sydney with a world title fight
00:19as our main event that comes up in just over an hour, but we have a couple of fights before
00:26that starting with this between Charlie Kazee and Louis MacGyver, the Sydney sider and the
00:32Papua New Guinean, they take to centre ring to get us started, Ben Damon in commentary
00:37alongside a couple of undefeated professional boxers in Sam Goodman and Jasmine Parr, welcome
00:43to the team guys.
00:44Yes, I'm so excited, this is going to be a great night of boxing.
00:49Getting started here with Kazee who's undefeated in six so far and has some greatness in his
00:57corner as mentioned, his father of course and the legendary Johnny Lewis and have been
01:03enjoying what he's been doing so far and Sam has been super busy so far this year.
01:08Yes, they've kept him very active this year and he's a great little fighter Charlie, so
01:12he's very compact, he works really hard and look he's got the runs on the board, he's
01:17been very busy and look I'm expecting another good performance from him.
01:21Yes, this is his fifth professional fight of this year Charlie Kazee and MacGyver goes
01:29to the body with his left hand, right hand, gets a right hand through over the top too
01:33does MacGyver, the Papua New Guinean, Kazee happy to trade on the inside with him and
01:40he delivers a right hand too does Charlie Kazee here in the opening round of a scheduled
01:45eight rounder, that'll get us started, good body shot too with the left hand from Kazee.
01:50Kazee's got really nice defence there, it's really tight so he's sneaking those shots

03:43It's an all star corner for Kazee, his father Peter of course, that's Johnny Lewis and Brian

04:01many years as Peter Kazee delivers the instructions and there's one way traffic really in the opener.
04:09Yeah I think Kazee was doing the right thing giving that pressure forward so if he keeps
04:13it up this next couple of rounds we could see the stoppage there for sure.
04:16He's setting up a lot of those good body shots and going up top as well with the right hand
04:20especially I think if he can keep finding the right hand up top and then start to look
04:24to dig to the body I think we get the stoppage in the next couple of rounds.

05:08Charlie Kazee go to work, this 19-year-old Sydney sider with Louis MacGyver, the tough
05:13Papua New Guinean standing in front of him and trying to trade with him as Kazee finds
05:18a long right hand there, turning that left hand around, there is MacGyver but Kazee came
05:31back and picked him off over the top, good shots, meaningful shots from Kazee, MacGyver
05:37did well to stand up, off his neck, break, break, step back and as we're watching this
05:46how would Andrei Mikhailovich be feeling, back of house do you think as he starts preparations
05:52on fight night?
05:53I think he looked pretty relaxed, he looked pretty comfortable, he's a confident sort
05:56of guy so I think he looked pretty calm like he was soaking up the moment and getting ready
06:01to enjoy the night but he's got a massive task in front of him and he's going to have
06:05to be on tonight to win that one.
06:06A couple of big right hands there from Kazee too in this, the second round of this fight,
06:10he scored big with that right hand that he turned around onto MacGyver and there's a
06:15left hook he leads with as well but MacGyver wears it, that left hook and that right hand
06:20is finding a home for Kazee, he's doing the right thing there, I think he can keep that
06:26pressure.
06:27There's that left hook again, he turns the right hand around and MacGyver just bobbles
06:31around this ring, he's taking a lot of shots, we know his toughness from seeing him previously
06:36but Kazee is punching very accurately here tonight, picking him off with both hands and
06:44seemingly it will so let's see if MacGyver can find something of meaning to keep him
06:49away but they keep on coming these shots.
06:53What about the pace as well from Charlie Kazee, I think he's already, he would have almost
06:57thrown about 200 punches already in the first two rounds.
07:01He's working hard no doubt Kazee, he'd like a statement, two stoppages in his six fights
07:06and six wins so far and he'd like to step that up even further.
07:12I think it's great in his favour that he's been so active, you get that real flow going
07:16on and I think he's feeling really comfortable in there.

07:30MacGyver works to the bell but it was another Charlie Kazee round, he scored with some big

08:01wrapping the hands of tonight's world title challenger Andrei Mikhailovich, an incredible
08:08boxing story as has already been discussed, a Russian orphan brought up in New Zealand
08:14who had some really troubled times as a teenager and now he's undefeated and he is one half
08:21of a world title fight and there's been all sorts of drama throughout the build up to
08:27that one, it was announced on just 29 days of notice for the pair of them but they've
08:33still crammed in all sorts of issues including today with the belt discussion, the IBF and
08:39the WBO, you can confirm that it is just the IBF belt that Janabek holds that is being
08:46contested tonight, whether or not they go ahead with the threat to strip him, we'll
08:53wait and see but certainly tonight an intriguing fight between champion Janabek and challenger
09:01Mikhailovich and that comes up as our main event, right now we're watching Charlie Kazee
09:06who has been pretty precise here against Louie MacGyver, oh I'm loving this work right here
09:11from Kazee, this is so great to watch, anything you'd like to see him add to his arsenal Sam?
09:19I think he just needs a little bit more separation right here in close, I think he's given, I
09:26don't want to say moments but he's also letting him get off a little bit, I think if he gives
09:30himself some room and looks to land a few bigger shots to the body, I think he'll definitely
09:33get him out of there, good shot there on the inside from MacGyver turned around to right

09:47free right hand himself and now at a bit more distance, on the inside though it is Kazee

10:10them up okay they're getting low, Will Sulos our referee laying down the law to Kazee,
10:20he jabs long to the body, Kazee just gives himself a little break here, see I don't mind
10:26this from Charlie I think just like that he can earn some longer right hands from that
10:30sort of range and then look to start to push the pressure again so I think if he can look
10:35to hurt him a bit with that right hand that he'd be able to build on that and get some
10:40more pressure, yeah I agree with you there Sam he's definitely getting those longer shots
10:43but he's letting MacGyver get a bit more advantage there in the inside, a little bit

11:01hand around the guard of MacGyver and there's another beautiful right hand, it clatters
11:07through from Charlie Kazee, MacGyver wore it well but that's the biggest shot we've
11:12seen so far through nearly three rounds of boxing Charlie Kazee a nice right hands that
11:19rocked the head of Louie MacGyver who did well to stand up again, he's taken a body
11:25assault throughout and then he wore a big shot over the top and he stood up well, the
11:32Papua New Guinean Louie MacGyver again showing his toughness and he's earned his minute break
11:39because that was a big shot.
12:10And as Charlie Kazee hears the instructions you can see we are really looking forward
12:15to that one an IBF super welterweight world title fight involving our own Tim Zou who
12:22takes on Bakram Murdazelev, that is a big fight you'll see live from Orlando on Main
12:29Event television in a couple of Sundays time so a major opportunity for Tim Zou after bloody
12:37Sunday in Las Vegas to bounce back and win another world title.

16:20Look, I think he's landing a lot of good short hooks on the inside.
16:24Charlie, I think he's just got to give himself a little bit more space.

16:36I think if he keeps his feet under him a bit more he'll be able to land those bigger shots

18:01They trade shots but Kazee's are the more powerful of them and again he works off that jab.
18:10He's looking for those big shots to the body when he gets his opportunity.

18:51I like to see him put something behind that jab because every time he throws it he's landing it at will.
18:56So if he puts another good right hand behind it I think he's just, it's just going to really stack up
19:01and he's going to get real close to getting MacGyver out of there.

19:24The right hands, he's definitely sticking in with those right hands.
19:27But I think he's definitely got to just keep putting punches together like he's doing
19:32and I think he can get the stoppage.

20:59People will think that we've got the best middleweight in the world and Janebeck Ali
21:04Manala fighting a Kiwi challenger in Andrei Mikhailovich here in Sydney, live on Fox Sports

21:17Can't wait to see Janebeck in action against Mikhailovich, he is a phenomenal talent and
21:27a heavy favourite of course, Mikhailovich though trying to live out a dream as MacGyver
21:33got through with a good shot.
21:37Good shot MacGyver, Kazi was coming forward and scoring with big shots and MacGyver he
21:43came straight back with the best shot that he's thrown so far in this fight but Kazi
21:49comes back and works hard.
21:57It's quite crazy some of the shots he's taking MacGyver but he's coming straight back with
22:01them too.
22:02He took a bunch there but he takes another right hand and a left hand over the top and
22:10he pushes forward and he needs some more of those right hands that he produced because
22:17there's something there.
22:18Kazi uses the shoulder to give himself space and follows up with a couple of shots and
22:23now he'll try and work from there, he goes to the body, there's Kazi, he definitely looks
22:28like he's starting to feel the pace a lot more in this round as well I think MacGyver.
22:34Couple of body shots there, that one did creep a little low, that's a right hand over the
22:38top, a left hook from Kazi, MacGyver on the inside with a left hook, there's a nice shot
22:42again from Kazi, puts a couple together as he leans in and tries to work off his neck.
22:51MacGyver waits for his own moment but can't find the target as Kazi goes around the side
22:57and throws that right hand and he breathes deeply and smiles as MacGyver seems to quite
23:04enjoy this stuff and he's taking plenty of shots for his troubles but giving a few back
23:12to Kazi, gets a couple of big ones, Kazi trying to step it up, the one-twos are landing quite
23:21nicely I think if he takes that step back he's just going to find a straight down the middle.
23:30Limps up at the screen there from Kazi just to have a look at how long he has left in
23:34this round and he gets straight to work when he realises there's not long, final ten seconds
23:40of the round, MacGyver turns it around, a right hand is a beauty from Kazi, he tries
23:45to find it again but it'll be another round down, another Kazi round two and he really
23:54started to step it up.

24:09Look he's just, I think that right hand, it's really a winner for him, I just think he needs
24:14to give himself a little bit of room and just continue to look to land those big right hands
24:19and then followed in with the body shots, I think when he just pushes forward with the
24:23body shots he closes himself off too much and gives MacGyver a chance to rest and also
24:28fire off a few shots of his own, so I think just giving himself a bit of space, a bit
24:32of room, land those bigger shots, look for that right hand and I think the fight's his.
24:37I think we just saw Will Sulos go over to the other corner and say he needs to see something
24:42so look I think a stoppage hand far away if Charlie really pushes after him and gives
24:47himself a little bit more room to land those bigger shots.
24:49Yeah the doctor went over for a look as well and a conversation with the referee so perhaps
24:54that's the discussion that is being had now is whether Louie MacGyver needs to stick around
25:00here for much longer so let's see how this three minutes plays out and perhaps it'll
25:06be the last three minutes we see of the fight if those conversations continue.
25:13Kazi really did step it up in that sixth round and he'll go hunting no doubt.

26:29He wanted to keep going and looking at MacGyver and seeing his obvious toughness he is not
26:36a man who would ever quit so he's gutted that he's been stopped here in Sydney this evening.
26:43But fair enough really because it was decisive and it was all one way.
26:50It was one way traffic the whole time.
26:53It is for the fighter's best interest sometimes when the referee or your team do get involved.
26:59He was taking a lot of punishment, Charlie's landed plenty of big shots and there wasn't
27:03a whole heap coming back from MacGyver so I think that's a good stoppage foot Will.
27:08I agree, health is your wealth so you can only take so much damage and you can be as
27:13good as your own toughness so he showed that he's tough but sometimes that's not the best thing.
27:17He's distraught too is Louis MacGyver.
27:19He wanted the opportunity to finish this fight on his feet.
27:22He hadn't been down in his defence but he was clearly not in a position to win the fight.
27:29So after the conversation with the doctor in the corner during the previous break in
27:36between rounds, referee Will Soulos decided something else big and he saw the shot and
27:43he was looking for it and he said no more.
27:46He sneaked in a right hand there himself.
27:49He was just about to throw a right hand onto the ref I think Louis MacGyver.
27:53I think it's slightly connected.
27:54Will goes in and gives him a shove.
