01:55met with the Secretary of State of the United States.
01:58The two diplomats reiterated the partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States.
02:02For Anthony Blinken, Morocco is an essential partner,
02:05especially in the promotion of peace and stability in the Middle East and North Africa.
02:09The United States attaches great importance to the maintained relations with Morocco.
02:16Morocco and the United States hold consultations on several issues,
02:19including the escalation in the Middle East, the crises in the Sahel and Libya.
02:23I propose to listen to Anthony Blinken and Nasser Boureda.
02:29Morocco is a key partner for the United States,
02:31especially in the promotion of peace and stability in the Middle East and North Africa.
02:38The United States attaches great importance to the maintained relations with Morocco.
02:42We work together on a series of crucial issues,
02:46including regional security and recent developments in the Middle East.
02:53Today, Morocco and the United States celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Jalon Major,
02:58illustrating the partnership that links the two countries.
03:04First, the free trade agreement between the two countries
03:09and the exercise of an African lion military, the largest of its kind on the continent.
03:17The two countries work on several issues,
03:19including the escalation in the Middle East, the crises in the Sahel and Libya.
03:24The United States reaffirms its support for the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative.
03:27Washington continues to consider Morocco's autonomy plan as serious, credible and realistic,
03:32said the spokesman for the US Department of State in a statement broadcast at the end of the interview
03:38held on Tuesday in Washington between the Moroccan Foreign Minister and the US Secretary of State.
03:43The two parties shared their support for UN Secretary-General Staffan de Mistura's personal envoy
03:50in conducting the political process related to the Sahara,
03:54carried out under the auspices of the United Nations,
03:56in order to achieve a sustainable political solution.
04:02Israel threatened to respond to the launch by Iran on Tuesday of some 200 missiles
04:07to its territory to avenge the death of several Hezbollah and Hamas leaders.
04:11Tehran announced that it will strike all Israeli infrastructure if it is attacked.
04:15Iran made a serious mistake tonight and will pay the price,
04:19said Israeli Prime Minister, Iranian Chief of Staff, General Mohammed Barheri,
04:24who promised that Iran will strike with greater intensity
04:27and will target all the infrastructure of the country if Israel implements its threat to Israel.
04:38In the Ivory Coast, political news is dominated by the revision of the electoral list.
04:42President Alassane Ouattara of the party in power, the RHDP,
04:45met with its regional coordinators.
04:47Max Obie and Ange Wilfred tell us more.
04:51President Alassane Ouattara, in front of the regional coordinators of his party, the RHDP,
04:56in the middle of pre-campaign, it is a gathering that has nothing ordinary.
05:00Especially in front of the multiple common statements of the significant opposition
05:04on the revision of the electoral list.
05:07Here the objective is clear.
05:09Put the party in power, in order of battle, for the victory at the presidential election of 2025.
05:14And the last paragraph of the motion on the candidacy in the name of President Alassane Ouattara
05:20at the next presidential election.
05:2211. Let us express our determination to implement everything
05:28so that the RHDP, under the auspices of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara,
05:35is the undisputed winner of the next presidential election of 2025.
05:44Behind the solemn side, this meeting also has the objective
05:48of presenting the activities of the 47 regional coordinators appointed in May 2024.
05:53These officials, in a way, embody a form of decentralization of the party's management at the base.
05:59The president of the party has thus recommended to the regional coordinators
06:06to accelerate the enrollment of militants in the base of non-militant data
06:12as well as the identification of the first voters for their next registration on the electoral list.
06:21Faced with an opposition that is more and more mobilized, the party in power knows it.
06:26The next presidential election will be different from the previous two
06:30and will undoubtedly rival that of 2010, especially in terms of participation
06:35with regard to the mobilization observed at 12 months from the results of the first round.
06:42The work of the second chairs of the cultural and creative industries
06:45opened this Wednesday in Rabat, an event whose main objective
06:49is to make culture a real engine of economic growth, innovation
06:54and prosperity for Moroccan youth.
06:56For two days, thematic panels will address the key issues of the sector,
07:00public-private partnerships, innovative financing,
07:03appreciation of heritage and the impact of artificial intelligence.
07:07The theme of this second edition is to celebrate heritage, to invest in progress.
07:12I suggest you listen to Cheikh Ebalech, president of the CGEM.
07:16There is art worth billions of dollars and represents about 5% of the world's GDP.
07:23In Morocco, we have barely 0.5% of the world's GDP,
07:27which means that the good news is that there is development to be made.
07:32And this development must be done and can be done
07:35because we need to create more work for young people,
07:39we need to show our culture, we have a very rich culture,
07:43we have a very strong civilization and we need to show it to the world.
07:49An example of what has been done in Korea and Turkey.
07:52Now, for it to develop, we need to unlock certain locks,
07:58namely everything that is human capital.
08:02Human capital must be formed to meet the needs of the sector.
08:08It is also necessary to integrate the informal.
08:12The informal must be integrated into the formal structures.
08:17And also, of course, the financing.
08:20Find funding for these creators, find funding for this industry.
08:24And also take advantage of artificial intelligence and digitization
08:29to create more new things.
08:35And I think we have good days ahead of us
08:38and that our country will develop more on this.
08:42The IKIN subsidiary contributes 0.6% to the GDP of Morocco
08:46and generates 30,000 jobs.
08:49Figures presented by Mohamed Sderri, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development,
08:53emphasize that the horse show greatly contributes to the realization of these objectives
08:58in view of the promotion offered by this show to the value chain of the IKIN subsidiary
09:02and to the reaffirming sport, both nationally and internationally.
09:07After his return to Morocco, the national football team
09:32was received by the Moroccan Royal Football Federation
09:36During this reception, the president of the FRMF, Fawzil Rja,
09:40congratulated Hicham Dguiq's group for the level they have shown
09:44during this World Cup.
09:46Fawzil Rja recalled the projects put in place to place the kingdom
09:49among the best nations in the discipline.
09:52As a reminder, the Moroccan national football team
09:54saw its journey stop in the quarter-finals
09:56after its defeat against Brazil last Sunday.
09:59I invite you to listen to the reactions
10:01of the national selector Hicham Dguiq
10:03and a few players of the national team.
10:33The draw was not easy.
10:35We had several opponents among the best in the world.
10:38My words would have been different
10:40if I had had a full group in this competition.
10:43But I was proud of my group because technically
10:46we were prepared and at the level,
10:48especially thanks to the friends organized by the federation
10:51before this World Cup.
10:55Despite the injuries we suffered at the end of the preparation,
10:58thanks to God, the coach was able to qualify
11:01for the quarter-finals of the World Cup
11:03for the second time in a row with a reduced group this time.
11:06We were able to count on the Moroccan audience as well.
11:09And I hope that it will be present during the next editions
11:12where we will enter with the status of contenders for the final.
11:18First of all, we arrived well in Rabat.
11:20Thanks to God, we thank all the people
11:23who came to support us and celebrate with us.
11:26We would have liked to go even further in this competition.
11:29It was not the scenario we wanted for this World Cup.
11:32We gave our all to hope to go all the way.
11:35But there is a good thing in everything.
11:38We will continue to work.
11:40And one day, if God wills it, we will win this World Cup.
11:46As you said, we realized this performance
11:48to go to the quarter-finals.
11:50We already did it three years ago in Lithuania.
11:52Sincerely, it was not our goal in this edition.
11:55We hoped to reach at least the semi-finals.
11:58Despite the conditions, the injuries and the draw,
12:00which were not pleasant,
12:01the Moroccan team had faith in its strength
12:03and showed it to the world.
12:05We promise the Moroccan people
12:06that we will go as far as possible in the next World Cup.
12:10And now it's time for the guest of the big newspaper
12:13where we will talk today about the second seats
12:15of the cultural and creative industries.
12:17And for that, we are live from Rabat with Neila Tazi,
12:20President of the Federation of Cultural and Creative Industries.
12:24Hello.
12:28Hello.
12:29So, these second seats of the cultural and creative industries
12:32are held in Rabat five years after the first edition.
12:36So, how did the idea of these seats come about?
12:42I would say that the idea was imposed on us
12:44when we created this federation in 2017
12:48within the CGEM to give voice to the sector,
12:52to change the perception of this sector.
12:55It is a very important sector
12:57that is gaining notoriety and importance
12:59in the global economy.
13:01And we have a lot of potential and talent in Morocco.
13:04And above all, we need to innovate
13:06and review our development model, right?
13:10And to go and dig for new opportunities,
13:13jobs for young people,
13:15development for our country
13:17and growth for our territories.
13:21And so, the idea of these seats was imposed on us
13:24because we wanted to open a big debate
13:26between the public sector, the private sector,
13:28the actors of the sector,
13:29to make communication more fluid,
13:32to have a better understanding
13:34of the importance of this subject,
13:37the way to contribute from each sector,
13:39the public, the private,
13:41and the efforts that need to be made
13:43to make this sector emerge,
13:45which, I remind you, is an emerging sector
13:47all over the world
13:48and the sector that creates the most jobs
13:50for young people between 16 and 30 years old.
13:53So, what is the assessment that we can make
13:56after these last two years,
13:58perhaps in the cultural and creative industry?
14:05The assessment is that this sector is moving forward.
14:09It could, of course, move forward faster,
14:11hence the second edition of these seats.
14:14The assessment is that it is a sector
14:16that, I would say, has always been resilient,
14:20but that it is even more so,
14:22and this has been proven following the COVID crisis.
14:25COVID has hit this sector very hard,
14:28and despite this, the sector is resilient,
14:30the sector is moving forward.
14:31We know that today, since 2019,
14:33we have 20% more job creation
14:37and 33% more business creation.
14:41Hence the need to look at these figures carefully
14:46and to say to ourselves that this sector has a future.
14:49Moreover, it is a sector that is growing
14:52on a global scale,
14:54since it is a sector that grows 8% per year
14:57in the global economy,
14:58which is much more important
14:59than many traditional sectors.
15:01So, we have a lot of hope for this sector.
15:06We came out with recommendations
15:08during the first edition.
15:09Today, we are coming out with some achievements
15:15that, as I said, were hindered by COVID,
15:17but we still persevered, we moved forward,
15:19and today we have a government
15:21that is very voluntary
15:22and that is ready to accompany much further
15:24the efforts of the private sector
15:26and to work hand in hand.
15:29These sessions will last two days,
15:31and for two days, professionals from here
15:34and elsewhere will debate.
15:36What are the challenges and challenges
15:38for you in the sector of cultural and creative industries?
15:42The first challenge, everyone knows it,
15:44is access to funding.
15:46It is a sector that always struggles
15:48with this issue of funding.
15:51There are several forms of funding.
15:53There has always been a lot of patronage,
15:55which is losing speed,
15:56and we are calling for a law on patronage
16:00because it is necessary for artists,
16:02for creators,
16:03for the management period of projects.
16:05We also have the classic, traditional funding,
16:08for which we must improve the perception
16:10that the banking and financial sector
16:12has of this sector,
16:13which is a bankable sector,
16:14which is not a risky sector,
16:16as one might think, by mistake.
16:18And moreover, we have signed today
16:20a convention,
16:21well, we attended during our event
16:23today a signature between
16:25the International Financial Society,
16:27which is the armed force of the World Bank
16:29in charge of the private sector,
16:31of the development of the private sector,
16:33a convention signed with Samuel Cohen,
16:36a convention signed with Samuel Cohen,
16:38the state,
16:40to guarantee loans
16:42and funding
16:44for the sector of cultural and creative industries.
16:46I would also say
16:48that this is the challenge
16:51of professional training.
16:53We are in a country that wants to create employment.
16:55In all sectors of the creative and cultural industries,
16:57which are numerous,
16:58we need to recruit
17:00and we do not necessarily find
17:02qualified profiles
17:04to be able
17:06to reach our ambitions
17:08and achieve our goals.
17:10There is another great challenge,
17:12which is that of digital transformation
17:14and artificial intelligence.
17:16Artificial intelligence will come
17:18to revolutionize the world,
17:20as was the case with the Internet
17:22and before the Internet, with printing.
17:24And today we must be fully aware of this
17:26and grasp, from now on,
17:28the trend that artificial intelligence
17:30will impose on us
17:32to take it into account
17:34in everything that is done
17:36in terms of creative and cultural production
17:38in Morocco
17:40and not to be late on this subject.
17:42And so this question will be at the center
17:44of the debates of our second sessions.
17:48So, can we say,
17:50you mentioned it yourself,
17:52funding remains one of the biggest challenges,
17:54can we say that public-private partnership
17:56is the key to these creative industries?
18:02Of course it is the key,
18:04because today in Morocco
18:06we have a model under construction.
18:08We have thought a lot about our new model,
18:10how to release energy, how to build confidence.
18:12And today we are not
18:14the Anglo-Saxon model,
18:16with a huge market that allows
18:18to create a law of supply and demand.
18:20We are also not
18:22the more European model
18:24with a large
18:26public subsidy policy.
18:28And yet, in Morocco
18:30we have a large part
18:32of our cultural and artistic production
18:34that is done thanks to public funding.
18:36It must be underlined.
18:38It is not enough, but it must be underlined
18:40that these budgets are increasing,
18:42that they are improving, but that we must
18:44build a model based on
18:46public funding, private funding,
18:48because also culture,
18:50creative industries, it is a market
18:52and it is a market that must develop
18:54at the continental and international level.
18:56We have countries like Nigeria in Africa
18:58that have done very well in cinema
19:00because they are very important markets,
19:02they are large countries with a very large population.
19:04In Morocco, we must make the effort
19:06to expand our market, to support
19:08our creators on international markets,
19:10in audiovisual.
19:12The art market is developing a lot in Africa
19:14and in Morocco a lot as well.
19:16So, there is a set of things to do
19:18between the public and the private,
19:20which are sometimes
19:22small actions
19:24that can change a lot of things,
19:26small actions that can create great dynamics,
19:28but this sector needs
19:30an in-depth dialogue,
19:32a very specific approach,
19:34very thoughtful
19:36and very concerted between these two sectors.
19:38This is the key
19:40to the dynamization of this sector
19:42that I call the employers for our channels.
19:44So, we are really facing
19:46a Moroccan youth that remains
19:48very connected. Do you think
19:50that we are facing a real
19:52democratization of these creative industries,
19:54especially with the internet generation?
20:00Of course.
20:02I remind you that it is an extremely
20:04attractive sector for young people,
20:06extremely attractive and very
20:08equal. We have highlighted it today
20:10in the inauguration of Césa-6,
20:12in the opening session, that it is
20:14the sector in the world that attracts
20:16the most young people. 50 million young people
20:18work in this sector around the world
20:20with 50% of young women.
20:22So, this sector
20:24is very attractive
20:26and, I must remind you, it does not require
20:28a huge academic
20:30pedagogical level.
20:32So, it is a sector
20:34in which we learn quickly. It is a sector
20:36in which young people have a desire to learn
20:38and it is a sector that is clearly based
20:40on the development of new technologies,
20:42in which we are in Morocco
20:44talented and very competent.
20:46So, we must seize
20:48these skills, encourage them
20:50and see how we can take them further
20:52and arouse a very positive dynamic
20:54and take into account
20:56all these talents in our cities, our territories.
20:58We know today that in the development
21:00of territories, youth
21:02is waiting a lot for cultural centers,
21:04cultural spaces,
21:06also for its contribution
21:08in
21:10social networks,
21:12everything related to the digital economy
21:14and it is part
21:16of the radiance of our country. It is part
21:18of how we can promote
21:20the experience of the place
21:22in Morocco for a tourist.
21:24There are so many things we can do
21:26in this sector of the creative industries
21:28where all the actors
21:30involved
21:32live a great synergy.
21:34We must remember that the artist works alongside the technician,
21:36alongside the craftsman, alongside
21:38the author, alongside the merchant.
21:40It is a whole ecosystem
21:42that creates a dynamic
21:44that is extremely positive for our country
21:46and we have every interest
21:48to build around this sector.
21:50You just said that
21:52culture and the creative industry
21:54are really an engine
21:56of development and also
21:58of promotion
22:00of economic growth. Can we say
22:02that culture is a stake of all
22:04policies in the end?
22:10Culture is a stake of all
22:12policies because culture
22:14is the memory
22:16of the peoples
22:18and it is also the cement
22:20of the peoples.
22:22It is an essential bridge
22:24in international relations
22:26and we announced
22:28a year ago
22:30the first partnership with the European Union
22:32and Morocco
22:34on a cooperation agreement around culture.
22:36It is a first and it is very important.
22:38The European Union will support
22:40the development of the cultural and creative sector
22:42in Morocco.
22:44This youth, of course,
22:46influences public policies.
22:48It is important, it is numerous,
22:50it is growing, it has its voice.
22:52Today,
22:54there is a political will
22:56to listen more to this youth.
22:58I say this as a Member of Parliament
23:00for nine years.
23:02I say this as a cultural
23:04operator,
23:06organizer and producer of the Gnawa Music Festival
23:08since its creation, for 27 years.
23:10I say this
23:12in all conscience
23:14that the youth
23:16is strongly
23:18demanding on this sector
23:20and it influences
23:22public policies. There is a listening,
23:24the proof by the presence today
23:26of many decision-makers within
23:28the Executive, the President of the Council,
23:30the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Investment,
23:32several
23:34members of the Executive were there,
23:36parliamentarians, heads of parliamentary groups.
23:38There is an awareness,
23:40there is a will, we must continue
23:42to plead and above all to communicate.
23:44I think that dialogue,
23:46communication are at the heart
23:48of all these dynamics
23:50and it is up to everyone, and of course
23:52to you, the media, to be the link.
23:54We thank you for this.
23:56And to finish,
23:58according to you,
24:00what will be the
24:02priority achievements of these activities?
24:08These achievements,
24:10I remind you, come
24:12after the first ones, in October 2019,
24:14the day after which
24:16we had a very serious crisis,
24:18that of Covid. A crisis
24:20that first plunged
24:22the whole world into isolation
24:24and in which,
24:26we must remember, culture,
24:28books, cinema, music,
24:30television have been our faithful companions.
24:32So culture,
24:34there is an awareness following this crisis
24:36of the essential role of culture
24:38for the development of the human being,
24:40for its balance,
24:42and also as an economic sector
24:44that experiences these digital transformations
24:46that will be at the heart
24:48of what will become
24:50this sector. And we are very optimistic
24:52because we will come out
24:54with recommendations, as we did
24:56during the first sessions in 2019,
24:58where we had 21 recommendations.
25:00And today we have
25:02a lot of hope because there is
25:04an attentive listening
25:06from the executives, there is a will
25:08from the professionals,
25:10and so we are very optimistic
25:12that these second sessions will make us
25:14pass a level, a higher level
25:16to go beyond
25:18and consolidate our achievements
25:20because they are important, they are even very important.
25:22With the budget we have
25:24for the culture sector, we manage
25:26to do a lot of things and a lot
25:28of our projects have
25:30international success, festivals,
25:32cinematographies, festivals
25:34like Cannes, artists,
25:36placinists who are
25:38on the biggest international fairs,
25:40authors who win contests,
25:42so we have to remember that we have
25:44great successes and we can go even further
25:46because we have skills and talents
25:48and I am very confident
25:50that with these sessions we will come out
25:52with new recommendations that will encourage us
25:54all to go further
25:56in the development of public policy,
25:58in the blocking of difficulties,
26:00in the lifting of barriers,
26:02in the access to funding, to training
26:04and everything we will need to go further.
