00:00So now to the National League, where things are still interesting.
00:07The Dodgers are the number one seed.
00:09They had the best record in baseball, best record in the NL over the Phils, despite Philadelphia
00:15having the season series advantage.
00:17Only 10 cents, though, DRS, separate these two teams to win a National League pennant.
00:22The Brewers also winning the National League Central, not the opening round by finishing
00:27two games behind Philadelphia, plus 9.50.
00:31We do not know necessarily the wild card spot.
00:34San Diego will be the top team.
00:36They have already clinched that playoff berth.
00:39Here is what is at stake in the doubleheader today in Atlanta.
00:44It's the Braves and the Mets for two.
00:46The winner of game one will already guarantee their playoff berth.
00:51If the two teams split, the two National League East teams, New York and Atlanta, into the
00:56postseason.
00:57If the Mets sweep, it's the Mets in the Diamondbacks.
01:00On the opposite side, if the Braves sweep both of the two games today at home in the
01:05A, it's Atlanta and Arizona.
01:08DRS, still something to be determined on now the final day of this Major League Baseball
01:15regular season.
01:16Yeah, Diamondbacks did this to themselves.
01:18Oh, it's unfair.
01:19Like, no, you had 162 games to try to settle this, and you pull into this tie.
01:23You look at the doubleheader, it's the worst-case scenario for the Diamondbacks because you
01:27look at, I guess, a team theoretically could sweep, but if one team wins game number one,
01:32whether it be the Mets or the Atlanta Braves, they have to play somebody.
01:35They're going to pitch their worst pitcher and their worst bullpen efforts and their
01:39worst lineup you can possibly have on that active roster going up against another team
01:43that's going to be pressed up against it.
01:44I believe, let's just say it's the Atlanta Braves, I think Schwellenbach is going to
01:47start game number one.
01:48If they lose that, you know who they go to?
01:50Chris Sale in game number two against probably a Mets tomato can where they're going all
01:54in to win it.
01:55It's a tough scene here overall for the Diamondbacks because they're not going to get in, but that's
01:59the fruits of the labor over 162 where you left yourself to be watching a doubleheader
02:03and see how you can get in.
02:04But also keep in mind, it is sort of unfair, and I thought Major League Baseball played
02:07this terrible last week because you probably could have squeezed some of those games in
02:11knowing the weather was there, changed maybe a location or two, moved up a game, and maybe
02:15didn't need this.
02:16That's what I think most of us were cheering on outside of Braves fans and Mets fans, that
02:20we wanted to see a doubleheader on Monday just because of the intrigue.
02:23But also keep in mind, you play a doubleheader today and get on a plane, you are playing
02:27in the next city tomorrow night back in playoff mode.
02:30So it is a distinct disadvantage for both of these teams, but once again, you'd rather
02:35get in than not get in.
02:36I think both of these teams will be taking flights out tonight, and both of those guys
02:40will be in the playoffs, not actually having a flight home like the Mets, like, hey, season's
02:44over, where are we getting those tee times at?
