Manchester United are backing manager Erik ten Hag ahead of a daunting double header against FC Porto and Aston Villa.

United are currently 12th in the Premier League following their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

00:00Eric ten Haag retains the backing of the Manchester United board ahead of a pivotal week in which they face FC Porto and Aston Villa away from home.
00:10There was fresh scrutiny over the future of the United boss after their demoralising defeat to Tottenham in the Premier League.
00:17United lost 3-0 for the fifth time in 12 months at Old Trafford to leave them 12th place in the Premier League.
00:24It was a match in which United were once again comfortably beaten by a team that, with all due respect, they feel they should be beating at home,
00:32particularly a Tottenham side who were without captain and talisman Heung-min Son.
00:38United looked lost, they looked like they had no real identity and perhaps that is the damning indictment that this is their identity.
00:45United were chaotic, they lost all composure amid adversity, they were terrible from the first few minutes.
00:52There were a few rallying moments in the second half and United still feel that ten Haag is the right man, certainly for the week ahead anyway.
01:01It is going to be interesting to see what the mood is like should United not win these next two games.
01:08Of course there is a lot more scope for them to resolve things in the Europa League due to the revamped format,
01:14but it is in the Premier League where Manchester United will ultimately always be graded and engaged against their domestic counterparts.
01:21It is business as usual for United today. They are just focused on those two games, looking to support ten Haag and hopefully turn this bad run of form behind.
