00:00increased their share of the vote by more than 10 percent compared to the last elections in 2019.
00:05On the other hand, the Conservatives, the People's Party here has seen its vote plummet by more than
00:1010 percent. So we've seen a real shift in power here in Austria. In terms of reaction, well,
00:15of course, the Freedom Party are absolutely jubilant. I think a lot of them didn't perhaps
00:19believe the opinion polls which were pointing to this victory. They were concerned that it
00:24might not work out that way. But, you know, it turns out, of course, that it has. I'm actually
00:29here at an election function of the NEOs, the Liberal Party here in Austria, who've done
00:35reasonably well as well. But when the first results were announced here, I think there was
00:39some kind of shock among the crowd. Certainly, you know, people, I think, are concerned about
00:45what implications this might have for Austria abroad, for Austria's standing in the world
00:50and so on. What we can say, though, for certain, is that Austrians have voted for change. And
00:55whatever form that change will take, we don't know at this stage, but that's the way it seems
01:00to have gone. The biggest problem for the Freedom Party is that no other party has said they will
01:05work together with them, or certainly not while the Freedom Party leader is Herbert Kicill. He's
01:10a man that's divided opinion here. And all the other parties have said as long as he's going to
01:15be, you know, the boss of the party, we will definitely not be forming a coalition with them.
01:20So it's very difficult to see here at the moment how the Freedom Party can find a route to forming
01:24a coalition.
